... every presidential campaign since Millard Fillmore That reminds me of one of the world's small injustices: We've had presidents named Millard, Rutherford, Grover, Woodrow, Lyndon and Barack, but not once have we had a president named Robert. Just one, that's all I ask, I'm not going to get greedy. People named James have six presidents to identify with; John and William, four each. That's good, William is my middle name. We've had three Georges, two Andrews and two Franklins, but never a Robert. There are lots of names that are very common but have never been the name of a US president - Michael, David, Steven, Timothy, Paul, Peter, Kurt, Charles, Joseph, Christopher, Daniel, Mark, Donald (actually, I'd prefer to wait a while for that one), Kenneth, Edward, Brian - the list goes on. Whichever way this election comes out, we'll have a new presidential first name to add to the list - but I'll be looking out for a promising young politician named Robert.

Which makes me wonder which comics characters would make the best US president, besides the obvious choice of Captain America. Speaking of Roy Thomas, how about Conan the Barbarian - he already has experience running a country!

Enough with lawyers in politics, have we ever had a real doctor? He made house calls so he's in touch with the common people. Plus he dispensed excellent advice. A good Middle-Of-The-Road type. He had his own comic book as well so he should get the geek vote ![](https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/1048013.jpg) ![](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KQcLV3XhKMg/UARUWS6pCbI/AAAAAAAACw4/fhz-dU391fo/s1600/Selection_083.png)

The Hate Monger would get an awful lot of votes, but for my money the best president would be the Shaper. Whenever something goes wrong, he can reshape reality for real. (Many candidates and elected officials change it in their head, but that only leads to disaster).

Wonder Woman couldn't run because of that "Natural Born Citizen" thing. How would you even get a birth certificate when you were made out of clay?
Barbra Gordon would be a natural, though. Experience as a congresswoman, stickler for details, support of law enforcement as a cop's daughter. Great human interest story with her injury.

I like the Rob/Roy ticket idea, but Roy's too busy with Alter Ego. That's much more important than being Vice President.
I suppose that if Squirrel Girl ran, she'd win.

Not only would Batman as President make Donald Trump seem sane, Batman would draft little 12 year old boys into the army and make them wear shorty pant uniforms And what foreign dignitaries would want to meet him in The White Cave?

Here's the thing: Trump's platform is fantastic. Trump's status as a total political outsider standing toe-to-toe with a slimy career politician is awe-inspiring. Trump's character is lacking. He's impulsive, immature and not particularly intelligent. Which is the shits, because if another billionaire came in with the exact same platform but had a truly presidential head on his shoulders it would be amazing. Hence, Batman. Huge celebrity, incredible business tycoon who has created thousands upon thousands of jobs, strong stance on law and order, not soft in any way, shape or form. But on top of that he's extremely intelligent, he's dignified, he keeps his cool in the face of adversity. Hell yeah let's get rid of these goons and bring in Batman. Wayne 2016.
