Great job to all CCFers, I haven't read all 100 pages of the thread but it sounds like quite a bit of weight has been lost. Congrats! I'm kind of getting to the point where my metabolism has really slowed down and whereas I used to be able to "hide" the beer belly, that may no longer be the case. At a recent Doctor visit a month ago, I weighed in at 208...a staggering number for me to comprehend as I generally never have had to worry about weight much. I've made some dietary changes. I quit drinking soda, cut out fast food, and no more chips, bread and sugary junk. I also no longer eat after dinner and am using Garcinia Cambogia as a dietary supplement. One month later, and I first noticed my beer belly shrink a good bit. Last week I checked my weight I went down to 201. Great! But after a weekend of beer and pizza, I'm back up to 204. Nooooo! So I understand that this is harder than I thought. I will read the thread to get some ideas you guys are using, as well as being more active. That is a problem for me since I work a desk job now and have to get kids to soccer, gymnastics, dance, etc. I have no time to work out it seems, but I know I'll have to make time somehow. I do hike on the weekends with my dog but it's going to take more than that. My goal right now is to get under 200, then shoot for 185ish. Also, if you're putting Ground Cumin in your yogurt I have a profound respect for you. Blech! You can do it, man. You can join the under 200 club.

the best advice I can give?. . don't think of "exercise" as "a work out".. think of it as "an activity" what i've been doing, and really ONLY been doing? a walk 3-4 times a week. started out as a 30 minute one, and I've maintained at 65 minutes (so about a 1 hour walk), and I go either every other day, or every few days. It's something low impact, something I can maintain, and I'm willing to do it in the evenings (or daytime if work is slow). that's what's worked for me to help maintain. you can do it Shax..if *I* can, then you can I LOVE walks. Great idea, Bert. thank you!! you are very welcome I just put on headphones and a disco album (really. . tho I do mix in Chemical Brothers or KMFDM).. anything with a beat, and just go. I weighed myself this morning, and I maintained the weight from last week -- my lowest: 174 lbs.

I'm learning from Arnold Schwarzenegger videos , that it helps to visualize what you want to look like. Put up photos of a more in shape , younger you, or use pictures of people that you want to look like to inspire you. It helps to have something to shoot for.

Great to see people moving towards their goals.
I have lost about 3 KG in three weeks since I started eating better and working out more which I am quite happy with. I have found that eating healthy has not really been AS hard as I had feared (Although still pretty damn hard). I have mostly maintained my Work out program to, with the only exception so far being yesterday where I didnt go because I had donated blood. Some people say they love working out after doing that but I really dont and just cant do it.

Shax, you know from experience that in the beginning, it comes off easily. Try not to cheat , but if you do , cheat with extra " good " food.

Shax , it might help you to analyze the past year in this thread and see if you can zig where you zagged. First up, welcome back into the game Shax - we'll all be rooting for you (note to Pakehafulla - this is in the American sense, not the antipodean sense, because that would be... just no). Second, that's really great advice from 'bone. Ultimately, what you're looking for is some food intake and calorie burn that you will be happy and content to continue for as long as you need (possibly forever), and which doesn't feel like a chore or an imposition in your life. My 2p/2c of advice is not to try to limit your daily calories too low - it's a lot lot easier to consistently eat an amount which doesn't leave you starving hungry, say, 1750 calories a day than it is to eat 1300 * 5 and 2800 * 2, and you'll be consuming less overall. The actual numbers will depend on your level of activity, your base metabolic rate and how quickly you want to lose. Don't give up the stuff you like eating, just make sure that it fits within your calorie limits.

On my front, I'm still plateaued at around 164 - just cannot shift the last few pounds even though I'm keeping down to my calorie limit and pushing the cycling harder (on target to hit 550+ miles this month).
I've got 3 more weeks before I start seriously hitting the weights on the "All Pro" routine for 6 months (now that I've finally got some gym discipline going), so whatever my weight is at the end of those 3 weeks, I'm going to call that the bottom, as I'll need to up my food intake to build muscle.

Hey SG, what's your ultimate goal weight wise , you have lost 57 pounds ( awesome) , where do you want to end up ?

I don't really have a goal weight as such - I'm aiming for a body shape, and I'm nearly there - I reckon I need to shift another 4-ish pounds to get rid of the last of my belly, so target weight is probably about 160. If I can't shift it in these 3 weeks, it's going to have to wait for another cut phase after I've bulked up (or attempted to).
EDIT: corrected the weights (again) - I was actually right the first time. Dang these newfangled weights in pounds, what's wrong with stones?

A watched a video that was originally a FB live vid from Arnold and he was asked how to lose the stomach. He said that you have to watch your diet because you lose body fat all over the body , and he also said to do 200 crunches first thing in the morning, every morning. I've been doing that, because going down in weight means nothing if your shape isn't pleasing to the eye. At least that's how I see it. maybe it's all the superhero comics with all those washboard abs penetrating my subconscious

Yesterday, I hosted a backyard cookout for my niece that was baptized. I'm going to forgo the weigh in today and try to come down from the eating of bad food. No worries , but after a month of good eating I'll get back to it today.
