Water Polo is very much like Soccer and you can't have any contact with another player if you have the ball. Without the ball - you can have some contact but it's restricted and that why we have three referees in the match. You can do some partial grabbing and that's about it. I'm definitely seeing an opportunity for a full-contact version of this - a cross between water polo and roller derby or ice hockey (though the skates might be a bit of a disadvantage in the pool ). Hmm... unless part of the pool had some ice floes ... Having said that, I have seen adverts for underwater rugby, which may well have already cornered the swimming pool-based violence market. I heard of underwater rugby and it's too much for me! ... I just can't handle that.

Why yes, strangely enough I do have something to announce, how funny that you should ask! As of this morning, my weight is finally through the 180lb barrier to 179.6, which means that this is not only a "digit day", but also gets me in the door of the 40 pound club, at -40.4lbs from my startpoint. Or, 18.6% of my starting body weight has left the building.

Completed 3 days of cycling yesterday, and avoided much additional food to offset the exercise, so around 1000 calories in my favour each day - perhaps slightly disappointed not to see more improvement in the weight, but mostly happy with where I am, which is 179.4, -40.6lbs from start.
Intended to get up early for the gym this morning, but that just didn't happen.
Hope you've all recovered from your seasonal Turkey overdose!

Week 17 – 258.3 Week 18 – 258.0 Week 19 – 258.5 Week 20 – 258.0
I'm pretty much stuck on the 258 pound mark in the past 4 weeks and haven't made any significant progress in my weight loss and having said that I dread the Christmas Season coming up and I hope to be extra careful in my diet. Played in the 1st Half of my Water Polo Match while my Backup swam the 2nd Half because we were playing a pretty lousy team and killed them by a score of 35 to 18. I scored a hat trick and contributed/assisted on three other scores as well. Just came home from that match and it was pretty easy one to play in.
Watch the 2nd Half in Street Clothes and before I left the Gym - I weighed myself at 258 pounds.

A bit of (sort of) synchronicity in the weighing today - 178 days in, and I've hit 178(and a bit) pounds - a new low at 178.8

A weekend of minor excess and no discernible exercise leaves me lying in the gutter outside the 40-pound club and blinking up in dazed reproach at the bouncers.
Time to buckle down and get under 178 before the holidays hit. Currently at 180.2 (-39.8).

Weekend excess seems to have left no lasting damage, so I'm back through the club doors, scattering bouncers to the winds @ 178.8 (-41.2).
Not feeling very active though - think I'm hovering on the brink of a cold, so really struggling to get out of bed early enough to go to the gym. And when I say "struggling", I mean "failing completely".

Great progress Bert! It's the 6-month mark on (this year's) weight loss journey tomorrow, but a big milestone for me today: I'm at 177.6, which means: - I've gone through the 3 stones loss mark (that's 42lbs to you lot, which doesn't sound half as significant)
- I've finally got past the lowest indicated figure I had in 2012, so regardless of how much the scales were then wrong by then, I'm now abso-tively, posi-nitely, defi-lutely the lowest weight I've been for at least 11 years.
Can I get a "hell, yeah"?
Yes, it appears that I can!

^ thanks. it's frustrating tho, since NOBODY seems to notice I know, I know. . I am still not "skinny". . . but sheesh, 30lbs should be noticeable! and CONGRATS! to you for hitting your lowest weight in 11 years. That's a significant milestone!

Thread has admittedly gone a bit quiet since Shax took a break, and 'bone hasn't been around for a while either, but notwithstanding that, you are making terrific progress - to be still averaging over 2½lbs a week after 3 months is really good going.

LOL. . I mean in real life folks haven't noticed, not in the thread, silly the support here has been amazing, and i wouldn't be able to stick to it without reading what others are doing too
