How about Marvel (Captain America, Ghost Rider, Solomon Kane, Kull etc.), Gold Key/Western (Dagar, Dr. Spektor etc.), DC (House of Mystery) and frequent Warren scribe Don Glut, who, as a regarded student of paleontology also scribed a well received and awarded Dinosaur Dictionary and Encyclopedia. His dictionary was a standard back in the day.
Additionally, Glut has worked as a successful screenwriter, and more famously gave us the novelization for Empire Strikes Back.
But perhaps Glut's most unusual claim to fame is as director of soft-core exploitation films, usually emphasizing his fondness for dinosaurs, universal monsters and large breasted women. "Dinosaur valley Girls" and "Erotic Rites of Countess Dracula" are a couple of his sexploitation b-movies.

Jack Davis... the man did it all. From LP covers to the US Postal Service.

Seeing Moebius' design work made me think of Enki Bilal, who actually directed a movie adaptation of parts of his classic Nikopol Trilogy called Immortal.

Dave McKean, of course, is famous for Sandman covers, but he also did the design work for the third Harry Potter movie. He would also direct his own movie, Mirrormask, written by frequent collaborator Neil Gaiman. (The poster is also unmistakbly McKean.)

I believe Neal Adams's studio created the animated Nasonex bee that is voiced by Antonio Banderas.

Following his tenure at Marvel on Man-Thing, Ghost Rider, and Monster of Frankenstein, Mike Ploog produced some wild storyboards for one of my favorite movies, John Carpenter's The Thing:
Sorry for the small scan; Ploog's work here is discussed in greater detail in the making-of documentary Terror Takes Shape (1998).
I have a friend who loves old movie posters, so I was pleased to present him with this Davis-esque Pink Panther poster by MAD artist Jack Rickard:

Doom Patrol artist Bruno Premiani wrote the most detailed and accurate book on horse anatomy that had ever been published. (According to the Teen Titans Companion, at least.)

With Mad Max: Fury Road finally coming out this week and getting rave reviews, it's nice to point out that Brendan McCarthy co-wrote the script, designed the characters, sets, and vehicles, and produced the storyboards for the film, a process that took over twenty years because of funding issues.
