Ditko inks Kirby on the FF…unusual. Unfortunately, for various reasons I only have access right now to the recolored reprint version of the story. I generally find these significantly distort the artwork so I’m not able to really tell how I feel about it. I really like Ditko inking Kirby. It's a pity it only happened two or three times in the early 60s (at least during the Marvel Age), because I kinda think Kirby's artwork never looked better. Not sure how much the recolouring in your version distorts things, but I have this story in the early 2000s Fantastic Four Omnibus Volume 1, which uses corrected colouring and other "fixes" when compared to the previous Marvel Masterwork reprint in order to better reflect the original issue (according to the marketing blurb). Still, the omnibus uses modern glossy paper stock which gives the colours a slightly too garish look IMHO. A quick look online provides a scan of the original comic printing and I still think Kirby inked by Ditko looks great... I think what I was pulling the pics from was from the Masterworks, which are awful. That looks much better. And I know I can find my copy which is largely the original publication coloring and printing, but I couldn’t put my hands on it while I was writing it up. I’d rather read the Essentials in black & white than the recolored Masterworks.

Incredible Hulk #2 - which in my opinion has the best Kirby art in that entire original, short-lived 6 issue run (although the best art overall is in #6, which is all by Ditko).
Spider-man #8 - the back-up story in which Spidey and the Human Torch, both acting like teenage jerks, get into a fight.
