That looks perfect, it reminds me of how I felt when I saw the first Iron Man trailer.

The trailer looks mostly good. I like the trippy stuff. It's good sign that they made the surgeon with trembling injured hand, because that thread in Dr. Strange's origin is highly underrated. Although I've honestly never thought much about what Dr. Strange sounds like, I'm glad Cumberbatch went with an American accent rather than his own English accent. And by the way . . . CUMBERBATCH!!!! It is stinky that the Ancient One is played by a white person, because Asians are probably the racial/ethnic group that's screwed most by Hollywood. But I'm glad to have read that Wong is in the movie and will be played by an Asian actor.
The thing that gives me pause is Scott Derrickson as director. I've never seen any of his movies, but they're overwhelmingly rotten according to the Tomato-meter. I hope his critical track record isn't an accurate reflection of his skill.

Like Spoon said, I'm very nervous about Scott Derrickson directing this movie and he hasn't had a good track record of directing movies at and I'm somewhat skeptical about this movie and having seen the trailer that Bronze Age Brian provided for us I'm cautious about seeing it and I'm planning on seeing it anyway because I'm a Doctor Strange fan myself.
Spoon might be right about this movie.

Kevin Feige hasn't missed yet with pairing a director with a property to bring about a good movie for Marvel Studios. People have had questions on a lot of choices he made, but they've all worked out well in the end, and I don't think this one will be any different. Even when things haven't worked out and he had to go to a second choice, he's found people who made the movie work. He seems to find people who understand what about the characters and the classic stories work and will translate into film and use that to build around, unlike director's chosen for the DC movies who seem to want to distance themselves from the source material. In Feige I trust. -M

James Gunn didn't have a particularly classy resume. While the Russos had great work as TV directors for Arrested Development and Community, those are a far cry from a super-hero action movie. Peyton Reed's most famous pre-Ant-Man movie is probably Bring It On, and Jon Favreau's most famous one was Elf. On the other hand, most of those are directors with a track record of working on quality movies, but making a leap in genre and/or budget.

I thought Sinister was pretty good, but Derrickson has been doing low-budget horror for most of his career IIRC, and that's a genre that immediately gets divided scores.

I thought his remake of the Day the Earth Stood still was decent, I mean it was a far cry from the original but by it's own merits it worked. He's not a guy that'd I'd see in a billing and say, "I have to see that!" but he's not terrible.

I just talked to a dear friend that knows about this movie and he knows that I'm a Doctor Strange fan and he assured me that this film will be very good and quite in tune of Doctor Strange. For that alone, I will see this movie for sure and he and I are planning on seeing together someday.
