Hmmm, hes kind of a multiple man now isnt he, or did he take over as the chinese hero Collective? I have to admit to preferring him in opposition to Fu Man Chu. The philosophy, intrigue, and interplay with Leiko and Blackjack Tarr were equally part of the package and leave the current Shan lacking. IMHO that is..

Iron Fist, yes, but Shang Chi, no, for me: I don't think the character works well in the superhero world. I've liked Shang Chi in Hickmans Avengers. Shang Chi worked well in Brubaker's Secret Avengers alongside Cap, Black Widow, Ant-Man (the Eric O'Grady version), Beast, and Sharon Carter, but that was more of a "spy" story than a "superhero" one, even though there were some super-powered characters present. He could also work well with characters like Luke Cage and Moon Knight, but once you start adding in mega-powered folks like Iron Man, Thor, or Hulk, he becomes as useless as a screen door on a submarine.

Meh. You could say that about Hawkeye, Mockingbird or Black Widow in Avengers or Batman, Green Arrow and Blue Beetle (Ted) in the JL.

More details announced-The Scarlet Witch series will be written by James Robinson, no word on art. -M From the bits I've read, it starting to sound like a different artist for each issue.

That's correct... they stated it was such in a CBR interview yesterday. (or maybe a couple days ago). They're also do a Starbrand and Nightmask book... they're college buddies tied into Squirrel Girl somehow. No idea who was demanding that.. it seems to have nothing whatsoever to do with Hickman's use of them.

I'm not a fan of what Marvel and DC are doing right now overall. They remind me of two old guys going through a mid-life crisis. Well put Don't see how anyone can approve of what the hell they're doing.

Waid and Samnee are doing a still unannounced series after SW, so I'll check that out.

Another major supporting character sacrificed for the sake of a &$@ limited series. I am convinced that the Marvel universe is a more intersting place with Leiko in it than with a Shang-Chi driven to avenge her death. Thanks for the info, mrp!

Anyone heard anything about Dan Slott on Silver Surfer? I haven't seen anything announced in solicitations or elsewhere. They are releasing the next trade this fall which collects up to issue #15, which is one more issue away. I could see them wrapping things up after that, but it would be nice to see the book go longer with the current creative team.
