Warren Ellis is set to be the writer on the Bond ongoing from Dynamite with art by Jason Masters BC storyEllis is a huge Bond fan, and has talked in public about wanting to do Bond stories for over a decade now, so this could be interesting. -M

I might take a look, although nothing from Dynamite has interested me so far

I like a fair amount of Dynamite's stuff.
Ennis' Shadow was decent. Wagner's Zorro was pretty good. Green Hornet has been sporadically good.

I think I've only tried their horror stuff, but it was SO BAD. They seem to have big names connected to their pulp stuff, but none I'm really familiar with. But their output being pretty much exclusively licensed is a red flag for me. But I'm a Bond fan so I'll give it a shot. I DO like the Boom licensed comics so I'm not necessarily a licensed comic hater or anything.

Yeah their horror stuff was bad, and their licensed stuff is hit or miss but if the creative team is good the product usually is as well.

I don't love Dynamite either, but Ellis on Bond seems like it could be amazing... I'll definitely check out the 1st couple at least.

Another possible trade wait for this comic fan who can't afford any more singles.

Interested in this and hope the artwork does not suck.

Interested in this and hope the artwork does not suck. I don't think that will be an issue, Masters is pretty awesome:

I think Ellis is certainly capable of writing a good Bond but after a quick google I'm not at all convinced by the Masters's artwork, which looks like pretty standard superhero stuff to me. Not bad, but not all that great either - and not particularly well-suited to Bond.
Could be I'm looking at the wrong things, though, after a hasty image search.

I don't think you were wrong, I liked his work on Batwoman well enough but the art in the first two issues was super bland and the thick inking and simplistic coloring didn't help things either. It just felt very generic, and the plot wasn't enticing enough to make me deal with the pedestrian art. It's a shame, I was really excited for this but the result was lack luster.

I might give this a chance to look at and I do like Jason Masters Art.

I might give this a chance to look at and I do like Jason Masters Art. Like I said, I'm usually a fan too, for instance I loved his visual pacing with Batwoman, but there is none of that energy here in James Bond: It's not terrible but it isn't exciting either, and that just isn't Bond. I think they needed an artist with a grungier, more stylizied art style to pull this off as Masters' look just comes across as too clean.

My my, you are generous : thos two pages are amongst the least awkward of the whole series so far. I confirm that even if you like Masters, he's quite terrible in this context.
