Yep, so did my daughter so I'll be getting them for her. The art is nice too, not the old Hanna Barbera style, which is what first caught my eye. I was a bit cynical about an "updated" version but I was pleasantly surprised how good it was.

I've been hearing great things about Flintstones. I'll have to pick up the first trade when it comes out.

I've been hearing great things about Flintstones. I'll have to pick up the first trade when it comes out. DC must be happy with it. They are doing a (similar in style) Jetsons title in 2017. The sales are OK - 15,000 for #3.

I'm going to the comic book shop tomorrow and hope they still have issue 1s still hanging around so I can get issues 1,2 and 3 of Death of X and some of Mighty Thor to go along with Unworthy Thor.
Mostly I'm going to the comic shop to buy old back issues of original Alpha Flight and bunch of old issues of mid 1990s Amazing Spider Man and some of Wolverine mid 1990s series

I keep looking at Cho's Jungle Girl and thinking about buying it... but then I keep thinking it's probably too cheesecake for me.. any opinions. Read this one today: Pretty pedestrian young adult story.. female lead, post-apolcalypse (alien invasion, this)... little kids fighting against odds, etc. Really pretty art, though.. I'd pick up a 2nd one if it ever happens.

Thanks to Comixology Unlimited, I'm reading Dynamo 5 by Jay Faerber & Mahmud Asrar. Captain Dynamo, the greatest super-hero in the world, was not the most faithful husband. Now he's dead and his family is trying to piece together their lives. As his enemies descend on his unprotected city, Captain Dynamo's widow rounds up his five illegitimate children, each of whom have inherited one of their father's super-powers. Can these total strangers come to terms with their powers, their father's legacy and each other as total chaos erupts? A couple of years back I'd posted, probably on The Previous Site That Shall Not Be Spoken, and Jay had replied, recommending Dynamo 5. Hadn't tried it until now on CU but I like it. Not great, but enjoyable. I like knock-off heroes cause things actually happen. The premise behind this, the Mighty Superhero, was in fact a flawed person not only dishonoring his marital vows, but many times. The widow finds his little black book in his secret lair and finds the bastard children he sired. We find that she was previously an investigative reporter, but that was really a cover for her being an agent of F.L.A.G. She brings the siblings together and hits em with some type of ray that activates the powers they got from their father. He had multiple powers, but they each got one. Now, related by blood but previously unknown to each other, and lead my his widow, work to defend his city. I'm on # 4. The fact they're step-siblings, hadn't previously known each other, or the widow, and come from different backgrounds, is a great idea. I'll be getting more of this.

Read the TPB of Low #3 collecting issues 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. Good gorsh is this a comic book that you can just spend hours looking at. Greg Tocchini delivers some amazingly detailed and incredible artwork in this series as he shows great creativity and style not normally seen. A scrumptious feast for the eyes if ever i have seen.
Rick Remender delivers some complicated story telling but the main cohesiveness found in this collection is to not give up on yourself or your dreams, continue to fight and overcome obstacles and setbacks in the struggle for what you desire and believe in until you succeed. Then have it all come down around you. Remender does like to kick his characters when they have just seemingly won over insurmountable odds. Not really sure where this comic is going but it damn sure is purty pictures!
All 3 volumes boast some spectacular artwork and designs along with creative stories and world building. It is not a world for the weak or weary but is interesting. I am along for wherever the ride takes us...
