ps Yeah, I noticed the Adams swiping on the Freedom Fighters; but, it was the best cover of the series.

It was supposed to be satirical; but, it was pretty lame stuff and medicore writing. Solosn was bottom feeder junk, either trying to ride the Turtles wave or ripping off some other fad, like ninjas. The basic premise is that they have discovered a super-soldier formula; but, it only works on senior citizens and Reagan takes it and is transformed, as are other members of his cabinet.... The terrorists had a field officer they called Scythe, but he looked a bit locked, in death..... The good guys turn up at the terrorist training camp..... Hijinks ensue..... Some other friends stop by...... Like I said, it was pretty damn lame, but they got three issues out of it, which made it their longest running series, apart from their TMNT Authorized Training Manuals (there were 6 of those) (2 general, and then one for each character). The credited writer is Monroe Arnold, a minor actor who worked in the 60s, until landing a part in the film, America, mentioned in the bio piece. Buckler was aspiring to be a director and I think that was their connection. His only comic book credits were the 3 Reagan's Raiders issues and the script for another Solson book, Codename: Ninja, which had one issue. Most of Solson's output consisted of things like The Bushido Blade of Zatoichi Walrus, The Amazing Whazoo, Sultry Teenage Super Foxes (human T&A, not animorphic) and a curiosity, Thunder, which was supposed to be a THUNDER Agents revamp. It featured a post-holocaust future, where a young woman discovers one of Noman's sites and Dynamo's Thunder Belt. She becomes the new Dynamo, while Noman is reactivated. Art was pretty amateurish and there was one issue. Solson lasted between 1985 (with How To Draw Comics) and 1987, riding the black & white boom and bust. It was run by Gary Brodsky, son of Sol Brodsky (hence the company name, Sol-Son), who was a real piece of work. He ran a website and made videos, selling all kinds of crap to pathetic losers, with all kinds of misogynist rants. Sol's daughter, colorist Janice Cohen, made far more positive contributions to comics and the world.

Looking for a truly edgy, sexy political comic? And if they covered his real life, you would get just that. His married girlfriend/mistress, 17 years his junior, at his side when he died. Don't let the "creepy uncle" look fool you on that cover...Adlai was a playa!

Yep, it's bizarre and I think it's something unique to US. Of course, sometimes real life politicians appear in some comics here, but I don't remember entire books dedicated to them.

I withdraw my "Republican" comments. I think Trump's self aggrandizement has warped my brain.
