I always thought Starbuck originated in Battlestar Galactica...I wonder if the show producers swiped the name? But thanks to you Cody, I'm naming my next Rotweiller pup Starbuck. I suspect both Chaykin and Battlestar Galactica swiped 'appropriated' the name from Moby Dick. Starbuck was the name of the first mate on the Pequod. That's what I always assumed, but Starbuck is a legitimate, albeit seldom used, surname. That's why Herman Melville used it for one of his characters.

I got my first computer when I lived at home with my parents. My bedroom was in the attic, but it was very hot up there in the summer. After work (if I had no plans) I'd be in the cellar with my TV, VCR/DVD player, radio, CDs, DVDs, and computer.
Hence, I was a cellar dweller, and that's where the name came from.

Tolkien said "cellar door" was his preferred name in the English language, but I think "cellar dweller" would have been a contender.

The creation of my user name is dirt simple. I live in West Philly (short for West Philadelphia) and I love the Punisher! Nothing more complicated than that!

Welcome to the CCF, Big Pun! Hope you survive the experience!
Now I realize I've never explained my own username. 'Mormel' is a Dutch word, basically a derogatory term used towards any kind of animal. Commonly it's used for dogs, in which case it corresponds with 'mutt', although it doesn't mean 'half-breed'. It's a shortening of a previous username 'Schuimend Mormel', which meant as much as 'frothing [at the mouth] mutt', to convey my level of fanboy-ism. Eventually I dropped the 'schuimend' because I thought it sounded stupid.

Digressing a bit, but I was always surprised/amused that the apparently chosen-for-silliness names in the various Black Adder series were actually legitimate surnames: Blackadder, Massingberd-Massingberd etc. And my overall favourite, though a position in the church rather than a surname - the "baby-eating bishop of Bath-and-Wells" - which became hilarious when the modern Bishop of Bath-and-Wells became Archbishop of Canterbury and therefore head of the Church of England.

When I was in high school, I used to watch World Championship Wrestling (formerly Georgia Championship Wrestling) on Ted Turner's Superstation WTBS (now the TBS cable network). This was back in the days when the bulk of the tv matches featured a star beating the stuffing out of what were known as "jobbers" or "enhancement talent." Georgia had a guy named Mike Starbuck, who was neither as cool as the BSG pilot nor Chaykin's space-faring pirate.

I'm changing to Caped Crusader to support my Adam West Batman Thread and having said that - I want to draw more attention to that thread and my respect to Adam West, Burt Ward, and the rest of the Actors and Actresses that made that show a living success back then.
So, Juggernaut is out ... Caped Crusader in!

The picture says it all: Cody Starbuck, Howard Chaykin's space pirate (a retooled version of his Ironwolf). I also use it at the Wrestling Classics Message Board. So, nothing to do with Buffalo Bill and overpriced coffee.

So @mfd1 what about your username?

Mine's simple enough: it's my ebay username. T. Ingram is my name (the 'T' stands for Tony) and the retro part is because I deal in vintage comics and collectibles.

So @mfd1 what about your username? It's my initials plus 1. Maybe I'll change it at some point.
