I think it might be a good idea to sticky this thread to the top of the board. Makes the forum seem more inviting to new users by giving them a jumping in point.

I've thought about it, but we also don't want to clutter the top of the page with too many stickies and have the actual conversations that are current not be visible. I'll check with Shax and Hoosier and see what the consensus is. -M

After discussing this with the mods, I've revised the "Rules of the Road" thread to function as more of a general introduction to the site, including a link to this thread. Thanks for the suggestion!

Made a few posts here but neglected to post here on the introduce yourself thread!
Brian from East Taunton, Massachusetts. I'm a high school teacher. Been collecting since the early/mid 80s. Still getting new stuff altho only in TPB, no floppies since they went up to $3 (let alone $4!) but tend to re-read a lot of older stuff too.
Thanks for creating this board after the CBR forums were reset. They still have a classics board there but it seems mostly focused on collected editions being released. I really enjoy reading reviews/comments on older comics by the posters here!

Hi everyone! Glad to be here and really glad to have found you all again. I'm sure some of you will remember me...I'm a refuge from the old CBR Classic Comics forum. Once upon a time I used to post over there a lot -- with my areas of *a-hem* expertise being Silver & Bronze Age Spider-Man, Tintin, Astro City and Marvel's old Star Wars comics -- but over the past year or more, life and work have gotten in the way and I've had long periods of absence from the forum. I only heard about this place last week from Dan Bailey (or Dan B. in the Underworld or whatever the hell he's calling himself these days! ) and he also filled me in on the heavy shit that took place over at the CBR forums back in April and the awful en masse deleting of threads that occurred -- shaxper, I really hope that you were able to save all your review threads, man. Anyway, like I say, I'm genuinely happy to have found you all again and I'm really looking forward to chatting about some classic comics with all my old pals. I had so many great discussions and exchanges of information over the years at the old Classic forum with the likes of (off the top of my head) Cei-U!, Dan Bailey, benday-dot, shaxper, Slam Bradley, Prince Hal, Rob Allen, MDG, Roquefort Raider, berk, Lone Ranger, Scott Harris, Chris Nowlin and so many other great folks. I'm really gonna try extra hard to be a better and more frequently contributing member of the community here than I was in recent times over at the old CBR forums. So then, what's new and what did I miss?

I find my reaction to giant green rabbits in Star Wars to be much less atrabilious since the creation of Jar Jar Binks. Why, Jaxxon sounds positively great, now!

So then, what's new and what did I miss? Cei-U! said lots of mean things about various people, especially me. Oh, wait. You said "what's new." Never mind.
