Go to the Profile tab in the navigation bar and select Edit Profile. Click on the Personal tab and right under Personal Information is a field for Display Name. Thank you!!! And now that I know how to do it, I don't know what I want to change it to. Or if I even want to. Curious about coldwater though...is it your favourite drink?

Curious about coldwater though...is it your favourite drink? Naming yourself after your favorite drink would be strange. Been meaning to ask, how do you mix a "comics"? I asked at the bar and all they did was give me a strange look. But they always do that anyway.

Curious about coldwater though...is it your favourite drink? It's one of my favorite Tom Waits songs. And here I was thinking it was your preferred type of water to shower in. I myself like to take a shower in cold water.

That's because you probably NEED to shower in cold water. No one really LIKES to shower in cold water. hahahaha. Not unless they are really hot from working out or it's summertime.

Haven't had hot water (except in the dishwasher, which has a heating element) in 8 years & nearly 2 months. Bourgeois comforts are overrated, & come the revolution (that's highly unlikely to happen, alas, though lord knows we have untold millions of perfectly good lampposts sitting around waiting to be put to beneficial use) they'll be in short supply, anyway. That which doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Etc.
Always happy to invoke far-leftist ideology if it makes me less dissatisfied with my lot in life ...

No wonder you're cranky all the time.

Well I've been here for a couple of weeks now, having finally finding out where you were all hiding(from me..). I'm Paul, 50, and live in a small town in rural New Zealand. I've read comics since I can remember, in fact I believe I taught myself to read with them(thats the story my ma related anyhoo). Initially as a youngster it was all British humour weeklies like COR!!, Whizzer and Chips, et al. I then migrated to Battle and War Picture Weekly and the more popular Commando (digest size, B+W war books), MAD, Classics and B+W DC reprints(dont recall seeing an actual DC until '78 or so). In '76 I convinced my mother to order the weekly Action for me and was hooked on Spinball, Dredger, and Hookjaw, and a year later discovered 2000AD with a vengeance. As a teenager I began collecting, mainly Marvel, but in reality everything I could get my hands on, and I mean everything. I bought a serious amount of shit. But good stuff too, Conan, Amazing, FF, Cap, Defenders, Hulk and began my obsession with the Avengers and the Legion (who were in colour, OMG who woulda thunk it). I was going through an addiction to western novels thanks to a neighbours husband, so read dozens of JT Edson and Louis Lamour books, as well as developing what would become my lifelong love of SF and Fantasy books. Around this time I discovered the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, a personal favourite. In the early '80s as I started working, I also discovered the joy of mailorder, dealing with Mile High for a number of years until the exchange rates made this too expensive in the later '80s. I continued to feed my addiction until the early '90s when I just got sick of shifting dozens of boxes every time we moved (some 15 times in 3 years) so I sold them. 5-7000 books for about $2500, not too bad for the '80s I guess. It was around this time that I started to think of my collecting as an actual addiction. Theres a lot of alcoholism in the family so its not hard to accept that some of my behaviours weren't healthy. The late '90s saw me stop buying altogether due to 3 children, and a lack of cash(damn you real life), but I have started to make up for that of late. I love Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Justified, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Penny Dreadful, Deadwood, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, ST:TOS, Blakes Seven, and Sons of Anarchy. (obviously amongst many others )

I really need to get back to Game of Thrones before they take it off On Demand. I watched the first season and a few episodes from the second, but I don't remember much.

Have you read the last series of Covenant books? If not, I don't want to spoil anything, but I thought it ended kind of abruptly. Stephen R. Donaldson also did a two book series (Mirror of Her Dreams & A Man Rides Through, which I think are collected as Mordant's Need) that I really liked and I'm probably due to re-read again. I tried his "Gap Into..." series, but just couldn't get into it.

Ive read some of the newer books, and a good friend who worships them has urged me to finish them, but I find that I struggle to concentrate on novels long enough to finish them. It must be years of comics reducing my attention span.
