Good evening, and good greebling. I'm Pól, and as a stuck-in-his-ways type, it took me forever to migrate here from CBR... I pretty much ditched the place and hung out almost exclusively on Facebook, but I'm gonna try and get used to posting in more then one place. Sheesh. Whadda imposition. Anyway, I'm 43, a former teacher (I was terrible at it) and current comic store retailer. I started out watching Adam West, George Reeves, The Thunderbirds, The Superfriends, Space Ghost and co. as a kid, and just moved into comics because if I don't have something to read in front of me, I'm usually looking around for something to read. As a result, I have no idea what my first comic was. Most of my early comics were Australian Black-and-White DC reprints, and I was always a big fan of team titles (especially the JLA and LSH... ESPECIALLY especially if the JSA were in the picture!). These days, I'm not reading any DC titles because it's a buncha joyless crap. I tend to go through periods of raging passion for one topic or another and right now I'm hung up on old movies where Mexican Masked Wrestlers pound the bejeezus out of monsters and mad scientists, and classic adventure fiction (currently reading some Arsene Lupin stories, though I usually have at least two books on the go at any one time). I had the genuine pleasure to meet a buncha you guys in person - Kurt, Chris, Greg, Laura, Rob, Dino and probably at least one or two that I'm forgetting - earlier this year at the Emerald City Comicon, which was a gas. I'd love to try it again and not screw so much up, but I've gotta wait until I strike oil or find an abandoned gold mine or something. Other than that, I hope to see you all around a bit more. Just in time for the cover contest: classiccomics.boards.net/thread/934/classic-cover-contest-dec-3Quite the clever theme this week.

Hi I'm Rob Gordon!
Some of you might remember me from a web page I used to have called Rob's Superfriends Fan Page which was dedicated to The Superfriends cartoon and anything DC Comics related. I had to let it go though because it was getting hard to maintain. I was a member of the old Hall Of Justice Forum, before it was moved over here!

We were partners and we both agreed that closing down was the best call.

Hi! I'm spoon. My actual first name is James. I went by spoon_jenkins for all those years on CBR. I probably showed up on CBR around 2001. There was a reboot around 2003, and I think I started a year or two before that. If you're someone who remember posters by avatars/profile pics, I usually use a Quislet avatar, although I've also used G.I. Robot and Karma as avatars.
I was born during the Bronze Age and bought my first comics in 1985. I have a habit of buying Essential volumes and binge reading them over a few weeks.
I didn't realize this forum existed until very recently. After the latest reboot, I took a long time to sign up at CBR again. Then, I did, and I puzzled over where everyone had gone. A passing comment over there alerted me that everyone had migrated here. But I'm here now. I'm like the guy in the sci-fi move who seemingly gets jettisoned out of the airlock to die 30 minutes into the movie, only to show up alive with 10 minutes left to shoot a harpoon through an alien.

Welcome back spoon! If you hurry, you can still post your 12 favorite single issues of all time! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Classic Comics Christmas! I'm so late to the game, I doubt I could come up with much of a list. It would probably just be 12 random comics I happen to think of.
