I grew up mainly in California and Texas, but currently live in Oregon. Hi, Roger! I live in Washington County, Oregon - a little to the west of Beaverton. I think the two of us are the only Oregonians here. My friend Kurt, who posts here as "Cei-U!", lives in Tacoma. We go to the Emerald City Comic Con every year. Have you been to ECCC? You and I have some interesting parallels in our history. I'm a little older - started reading Marvel, DC and Archie in 1963, went into full Marvel Zombie mode from 1965-71, expanded into DC, Charlton, Warren, Skywald and undergrounds, then dropped completely out of comics in 1978 when I graduated from college. I've never gone back to regular monthly Marvel or DC comics but have been reading a variety of things, as well as reading a lot of comics history. Hope to see you around the board and around town! Rob

I live down south in Eugene. I've been here for about 10 years. I have not been to ECCC. I thought about it last year when Image Expo was being held there, but couldn't muster up the necessary momentum to make it happen. One day, perhaps. Roger

Hello everybody! My name is Sam. I've been into comics since 1978. My first comic was Incredible Hulk #224....and I was hooked! My favorite character is Spider-Man, but Hulk is a close second. You might say im a Marvel Zombie because Marvel Comics are my favorite! I don't read too much of the current stuff...so I just read and collect back issues. For a little while I was living in California, but im back in Oregon. See ya all on the forums!!

I'm a Spider-Man fan myself - I prefer the early stories back in the sixties and the seventies ... Can you expand what back issues are you referring to? Welcome to our forum Spiderguy72! ... Happy that you are here and enjoy yourself in the vast subject matters here at CCF!

Hello all I joined because of the civil attitude of the forum and for my love of comics and all things artistic. I love Spidey and the Marvel Dracula series and I've also have over 5000 Horror movie magazines. Ditko, Colon and Romita are the greatest as fr as I'm concerned, then again I'm not a great artist myself so any body who can draw something I can recognise is great in my books.

I did not get into the horror comics books at all - I know there is a Marvel Dracula but I did not had the time to read it. Anyway, welcome to CCF and happy to have you here.

Christopher Lee was a master of portraying "creepy", which made him great for everything from Dracula to Saruman. Welcome draculafan1. Always good to get "fresh blood".

Hello! New to these boards. I tend to post and browse a fair bit on /r/comicbooks but I figured I might as well make an account here because I'm very interested in getting into Golden Age (and eventually Silver Age) comics. This looks like a really nice and welcoming community, and I hope to participate here more once I get around to ordering my first ever set of Golden Age comics in the form of the Golden Age Superman Volume 1 paperback, recently put out by DC. I've become a big Superman fan recently after having read Birthright, All-Star, and Red Son, and I'd love to read many of Superman's (and others') earliest stories both as historical timepieces and out of genuine interest for the stories themselves. Although I'm only 22 I was raised on entertainment by my parents from an early age like I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver, the Dick Van Dyke Show, and many "classic" films from the late 40s, 50s, and 60s. I've been told by various people that I'm really going to love Golden Age and Silver Age comics, and I hope they're right.
