My name is Luis, I'm a 49 year old film scripwriter and director from Colombia. Now days one of my stories is being turned into a comic book series. My love for comics goes way back to my very early childhood. I enjoy a good superheroe story but prefer othes types of comics. Some of my favorite series are: Transmetropolitan, Sandman, The Invisibles, V for Vendetta. Of current series I specially enjoy: Monstress, Lazarus, East of West, Wynonna Earp and Lucifer. I enjoy cooking, reading (lots of SciFi) and skydiving. I'm also a Formula 1 fan. My regards to all forum members. It is great to have another Tintin fan here ... I got hooked on Tintin a year ago and now have 15 books already! ... all to Confessor undoing and his love for this character. I just like the simplicity and the kindness of it and that's attracted me and the gorgeous settings that Herge puts his heart into it making it so realistic and colorful too. Welcome to CCF!

Hello Luis! Did you recently ask a question about a 1970s Colombian comic book on another site? Yes Rob, that's me and I found about the Classic Comics Forum by following the link on your profile at CBR. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks Caped Crusader, indeed Tintin's adventures are a lifelong love for me. The first Tintin book I actually owned was Cigars of the Pharaoh, a birthday present when I turned six years old. I treasured it then and still think it has one of the great comic book covers of all time.

Luis H. Reina, Out of the 15 books that I own ... I don't have a copy of that book and based on your initial description that book should be the next on my agenda. Just to let you know that a year ago - I've never, ever heard of Tintin and now - I'm hooked and I went to my LCS and started buy new and used books of this series done by Herge. Thanks for sharing your love for this book and appreciate sharing your thoughts about Tintin.

Do give it a try, it's a great book and the storyline partially continues with The Blue Lotus, which is also great. Enjoy!

My name is Rebecca, a photographer by trade and a returning college student, and I have just recently returned to my love of comic books after a two decades long hiatus. Growing up I fell in love with the DC Universe, namely JLA and JLE, with a big emphasis on Wonder Woman and Power Girl. Now, I run the gamut. If I like the book, I read the book. (Life is too short to discriminate, even in the comic book world!) I am lucky to have some Uber comic nerds in my life who have no problems answering my insane comic questions and recommend ones they think I would like. (And believe me, some of my questions are beyond the Milky Way.)

Thanks for the welcome LovesGilKane. Regarding filmmaking, I bet you wouldn't believe how crass and pedestrian our job is, 99% of the time. Selling, begging, pleading, appealing, always trying to finance your next project. But then you have that other 1% of the time when you are actually writing, filming and editing... pure magic!

Hello,
Happy to have found this place! I started reading comics way back in the 70's and collecting in the early 80's. I have continued to do so, on and off since then. I got a bit burnt out in the early 90's but things have seemed to improved over the last twenty years or so. I even once owned an interest in a local comic book store! Used to host a few comic book RP forums as well.
For most of my life I have collected Marvel and independent titles and really like pre-code stuff as well. I also quite enjoy Warren Magizine stuff from the 60's and 70's. Ironically, most of my favourite characters are DC but I just have never really been able to get into their comics for too long.
I'm originally from Scotland but have lived and worked all over the world which has made collecting tricky at times, but now I am semi-retired so I have been able to get back into things.
I'm a bit old fashioned in that I still prefer actual paper comics compared to digital. I just can't get into digital comics. I know, I know silly.
Currently, I am a big lover of Batwoman and Wonder Woman and just adore the DC Bombshells. Can't get enough of them.
