Duragizer, welcome to CCF and I'm not much a fan of Modern Comics from 2002 and on. I'm into Dynamite Entertainment, Older DC and Marvel Comics (from 30's to the 70's), Tintin Comics, and small comic companies from time to time. I'm a fan of the Golden Age of Comics especially from Timely Comics aka Marvel. Welcome to CCF!

Hi, my name is Santiago and I frequent CBR and Comicvine as well. I've been reading comics since I was 6 but I haven't managed to amass that big of a collection since there really aren't that many places to buy comics in South America when compared to North America or Europe, so my collection consits of trades and graphic novels of only what interests me the most. Mainly DC stuff and other spanish speaking comics. Btw, if anyone is interested in getting into some good ass spanish comics, Blacksad and The Eternaut are fantastic.

Welcome, Santiago! Both Blacksad and The Eternaut have been praised here at CCF. What part of South America are you in?

As suggested in the welcome pm im making a hello thread. I been lurking a few days and this forum seems nice and friendly. I don't read many old comics (not to age most here seem to talk about) but recently was given some classics of my favourite characters for a birthday and it is getting me hooked on finding more old ones It seems a good idea to join a place like this. My comic interests are narrow but intense having a fairly large 2000 AD collection that grows each week. Judge Dredd, Slaine and Bad Company are my favourite characters. Not sure what else to say but look forward to chatting with you all

I first came to this community with a narrow interest that had recently been rekindled as well, and I have to warn you -- this group got me into far far more good stuff. Warn your wallet and your closet space now My personal experience with 2000 AD is limited largely because there's just so much of it. I followed it for one complete year and found I didn't have the space nor the wallet to keep going after that, but I really really enjoyed that one year ride. I think the reason EPIC ILLUSTRATED is one of my favorite comic titles ever is that it had the appeal and scope of 2000 AD, but the story lines were more compressed, and there were only 34 issues, so you could easily own and read them all But both 2000 AD and Heavy Metal are books I'm interested in pursuing further. While I generally loathe e-comics, those might be titles where such a format would be necessary in order to read a large chunk without killing my wallet and my living space.

I look forward to being told more I already know I need another trip to IKEA soon, but I love it there so not a bad thing for other then my wallet Yeah 2000 AD is very big, recently had 40 years anniversary so lot of history to read, especially with Dredd where timeline is linear. Think that why i like it though. I started reading series in 2000s when there was already 20 years of history but could pick up fairly quick as it just one timeline to follow with most the characters. If you are interested in getting back to 2000 AD I can try and give you some places to start, at least with the characters I mention above. There are e-versions too, never tried them though.

I'd love that. Heck, if you feel up to it, it would be great to have you start a thread for folks looking to get into 2000 AD. While we have a diverse group here, many of us are from the US and don't have easy access to those books. Heck, when I set up a pull list for 2000 AD a few years back, my LCS owner had no idea how to order the annual Prog along with it that launched all the ongoing story lines for that year. I know there are some trades that collect the most important Judge Dredd stories, but I'd definitely like to hear more from someone who really knows their 2000 AD

But if people have questions I can try to find answers so would to start a thread if that is wanted. Which board would it go?

The first one, Classic Comics Discussion, if you're going back ten or more years. Really looking forward to it!

I'm a 30-something living in the Washington D.C. area (my avatar should be a clue) with my wife and children. My background is in engineering, but I currently work in the field of intellectual property. I chose the name Randle-El because I used to joke with friends that Antwaan Randle El, former wide receiver for the Washington Redskins, was really Randle-El, distant cousin to Kal-El of Krypton. I thought of this, when I saw a guy in a "Randle El" NFL shirt in London's Borough Market today

I thought of this, when I saw a guy in a "Randle El" NFL shirt in London's Borough Market today And I find that to be notable considering that it was in London and that it was a jersey of Randle El. I live in the Washington DC area where there are lots of Redskins fans, and Randle El's jersey is not one that too commonly seen out in the wild. Although I'm curious -- was it a Redskins jersey or Steelers (he played both teams)? Were the colors black and gold or burgundy and gold?

Black and gold, I think - it definitely wasn't the normal Redskins shirt.
