Are those Marvel CD-ROMs or DVD-ROMs still available? I like the idea of them being scans of the originals - colours, letter pages, and all.

I've been getting graphic novels for Kindle rather than as books, mainly because I've just about reached "peak stuff". I've put off getting Clowes' "Patience" 'cause I'm not sure if I want the physical version or not. I'll probably break and get the TRUMP reprint, though.

A quick search of eBay has prices for the DVDs roms all over the place. I saw the Iron Man and X-Men ones going for about 300 a piece. Surprisingly, I saw the FF. One for 49 from one seller.

Well, that one has a couple of "tricks", for one, the seller has been inactive for more than 12 months, so he probably needs good fresh feedback ASAP. There's also the thing about this DVD being replaced by the Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer: The Complete Collection one. I only see one good reason to choose the one on sale, over the most recent one (f you don't care about those few extra years and just want a good deal on the classic stuff).

For me, print will always trump digital. I just like to have the physical copy in my hands. I also like the various ads and I like the feel of old, beat up comic books. And that smell as well...just reminds me of the 70's. Can't find that with the digital books. In my opinion, they are just too clean as well. I don't like the perfection of the colors...I like the flaws in the old print comics. I also like being able to take the comic with me anyplace(I don't have a Smartphone, just a basic one) and reading it whenever and wherever I am. Don't get me wrong...I have read a few digital comics. It is a great medium. I also like the fact that you don't need storage space(which is my only real peeve about collecting comic books).

I agree with everything you said, but, having my collection in storage and not very accessible, at least for me, has really turned me on to digital.
BTW, just this week, following Netflix's business model, Comixology announced it's introducing exclusive content. The first 3 series are Adventure Time, a Valiant high school-type spoof, and a Harvey Kurtzman unseen classic.

Don't mind digital to preview material or maybe read a sample issue or two (or whole series if it's THAT good)...
...but...
...prefer a physical copy I can hold in my own hands when it comes to actually owning the books.

I was the first kid on the block with a home gaming system, computer, bbs, internet, you name it. My dad was a computer programmer so we always had the latest and greatest. But I am finding that now I want to go more old school. I like how a book or comic or whatever feels in the hand. I like dog earring pages (gasp in the horror - but books and not comics). I like the smell. I like that I don't need the internet or electricity to enjoy it. But hey, that's just me.

I have gotten into digital quite heavily over the past few years. It is so nice to have instant access to my comics without having to dig through boxes. Also, all of my digital copies are in MINT condition! 😊
I wish DC would get on the ball and fill in all of the digital gaps from the 50-70's...so frustrating!

I wish DC would do a service like marvel unlimited. My main source of Marvel comics these days, with the exception of epics, is on that.

They fought tooth and nail to prevent same say digital release and form what I understand their efforts are on of the main reasons same day digital releases are priced the same as print. They have a track record of resisting the digital platform that comes from higher up in the food chain than just Didio and Lee. I am pretty sure based on that track record they won't move into any new digital platforms like an Unlimited service until they have absolutely no choice in doing so for survival's sake. They're not at that point yet, and I don't see them reaching that point any time soon. They'll drag their heels until they have no other recourse. -M

With stuff like comixology, archie and marvel all offering some service of this kind I have no doubt DC will do it to. Although they will likely do like Marvel and be half a year behind current issues of something like that. My guess based on not much really? 3-4 years at the most. DC only has a standpoint untill they decide they want a new one. "Hold the line at 2,99", "This is the new Wally West" and "No married superheroes" were all things they where adamant about until, well they werent.
