Thanks to all who voted for me and for all who keep posting great covers. This week's theme: Walk Like an Egyptian...Post a cover that has some thematic component pertaining to Egypt... The Cover Contest Rules:- Post one, and only one, classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. - Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before Jan 1 2005. - Covers must be posted before voting begins. - Voting begins on Tuesday September 1 at 12:01am PST and ends at 11:59am PST. - Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. - Put the name in bold. Votes not in bold will not count. - The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. - The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. - If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; don't post disparaging remarks about it. If a cover is more recent than the Classic time frame, kindly point it out and the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins. - When posting covers, remember GCD (aka comics.org) doesn't allow hotlinking and if you use them for the source to post your cover, you will see it because it is in your cache, but no one else will be able to see it. Use a source other than the GCD for your image for others to see it. and most of all....ENJOY! -M

Late 50ies egyptian licensed Mickey Mouse comic where Mickey is doing the ramadam, how about that? I like it because for once, it is something we westerners know about, but for egyptians, puting Mickey in their real context, not our western tourist roantic POV.

This is semi off topic , but here goes-
In the boilerplate language of the rules it states to place your vote in bold. But even if it's not, those votes should count. It doesn't say that the non bolded votes are disqualified. I just raised an objection over in CBR which might get me banned, because 2 votes were not counted because it wasn't in bold. The original reason for having the vote in bold was to make it easier for a person to tally up the results. I feel by nullifying that vote , it goes against the spirit of the fun of this contest. Some devices do not have the capability of bolding the text. mrp won the last contest with 7 votes. Does it mean that if he received 5 votes that were not in bold he would have lost?

One of Jim Aparo's more unusual covers. He revived one of his ancient signatures which, appropriately enough, he used to put in a cartouche, just like names of royalty in Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs!
