CBR articleDC/Warner is finally giving Bill Finger recognition for his role in the creation of the Bat-Mythos-he will receive on screen creator credits beginning with the second season of Gotham and on the Batman vs. Superman feature film. About damn time DC, but good on you for finally doing the right thing. -M

That's pretty good news. I wonder if this means any thing royalty wise for his family though, or is it just a show?

With Kirby and now Finger getting their just due and official corporate recognition, we're finally starting to see a bit of justice in the comics world. This is one of those rare situations where it's not DC/Marvel screwing a creator, but another "creator" and posthumously said creators family. Now your moment of Zen...  |

Wow. Naturally, when I hear of any big decisions made by DC, I run to the Has DC Done Something Stupid Today? page, but I'm not used to them doing something that isn't stupid. I am so confused... |

Bleeding Cool is reporting that the credits for Finger will extend to the comics as well soon.

I remember a few times over the years that the people working on Batman comics would get around the "created by Bob Kane" part by stating "special thanks to Bill Finger" in the credits box. They did it for Jerry Robinson as well.

From the preview of one of the upcoming DKIII one-shots released by DC, we see the Finger credit in comics....  The BC article is surmising such a credit could only be used if the Kane estate agreed to it, so some type of deal was likely worked out. -M |
