Death Rattle !
Rachel Rising is really good.
I must be the only person I know underwhelmed by American Vampire. I read the first collection only.

I think I can get in on this. I have a healthy stack of Warren mags and Death Rattle comics I haven't read yet. A few horror mags too that I've been buying and not reading, this would be the perfect opportunity to get caught up on those. Oh, Death Rattle! Was that the old Kitchen Sink book? Anthology? I think I have at least one issue somewhere. Yeah, that's the one. I bought them up because I thought they were Corben books but he just did some covers. It's still a fun book though, and a lot like the Warren mags I like so much

I must be the only person I know underwhelmed by American Vampire. I read the first collection only. I couldn't get into it, either. I'm not sure it would have made it if they didn't plaster Stephen King's name all over the first few issues, but it became a popular book.

I like American Vampire. I wish the art leaned more horror and less action though. It really reminds me of 90's superhero claws and teeth comics when it gets going. But it's a cool Vampire story.

Horrific tally so far: 3 -M Oh, shit, last night counts? Dead Men Tell No Tales # 3! I didn't even know it counted as "horror" - I was reading my new comics and have "Everything with pirates" in it on my pull list. I probably can't count Scooby Doo Team-Up, huh. Even though Secret Squirrel's Mole side-kick was pretty horrific. Note: I'd never heard of Secret Squirrel before. It felt like an old cartoon, but I figure I would have caught it in reruns at some point during my childhood.

I'm thinking of reading Hellboy. But on the other hand I've been re-reading Preacher...which isn't horror.
On the other hand...maybe I'll read something else. About time for a re-read of Moore's Swamp Thing.
Or....I dunno.

Born in 1976. Secret Squirrel was around in the '60s and revived in '93 (according to Wikipedia) but missed my prime cartoon watching years.

Started at dusk on the 30th, or midnight the 30th morning for double Challenge participants. And of course Scooby Doo counts! I'm watching episodes right now actually, for my film/TV challenge.

I found a random beat up copy of #24 in a quarter bin a couple years back and never got around to reading it. By beat up I mean like Poor to Fair....but it was complete and readable, and hey a complete readable Silver Age era book for a quarter is hard to pass up. -M
