Now that the CCF has multiple confirmed banana haters, I'm officially forming the CCF Anti-Banana League (ABL). Charter members include myself, Arthur Gordon Scratch, and cooper, but I'm actively recruiting more right-minded haters of the evil yellow herb that masquerades as a fruit.
Join us and let our battle cry ring out, "Down with mushy godawfulness!"

That's right kids, help me peel away these evil-doers before they can hatch their evil plot! -M Your "hero" and his mushy godawfulness will never stand against our determination! His limp banana will droop before the truth! Bananas aren't really fruit! They're an herb-based lie promoted among us by the likes of Carmen Miranda!
We will strive to keep them in their proper place, which is being a prop for slapstick comedy. I'll only take a banana if you force it into my cold, dead hand!

Ha! bring it on, our forces stand ready..... Because, clearly, an advertising sign would never lie... and if you can't get your banana fix because the ABL has blockaded your home, we have the remedy.... Han Solo, he did the Chiquita Run in under 12 parsecs! -M I notice that neither of them are actually eating the evil things. Thus demonstrating the only other acceptable use for bananas, besides slapstick: pretending they're a gun.

Banana myth #1: they're high in potassium.
While they do have some potassium, there are many delicious fruits and vegetables that are much higher: beans, milk, apricots, carrots, bell peppers, & sweet potatoes.

Banana myth #2: At least they can't hurt you.
People with allergies to latex can have reactions to certain foods. Rated in the high category (by the American Latex Allergy Association): bananas, avocado, chestnut, & kiwi.

Banana myth #3: Bananas are fruit.
The banana plant is an herb and the yellow objects that grow off from it are botanically berries.

Banana myth #2: At least they can't hurt you. People with allergies to latex can have reactions to certain foods. Rated in the high category (by the American Latex Allergy Association): bananas, avocado, chestnut, & kiwi. I have a latex allergy. Or at least an adverse reaction. Bananas and avocados (guacamole really??? almost as bad as tequila) are not among things I enjoy. I've had kiwi flavored things, like juices, but I don't think I've ever eaten the actual fruit. The only disparaging thing as far as being a potential member of the group, that while I dislike the banana itself, I really like banana flavored Laffy Taffy.

Banana fact #1: Bananas contain radioactive isotopes.
US based think-tank, Nuclear Threat Initiative, warns that bananas can trigger sensors at US ports used to detect smuggled nuclear material.

Not to worry, the fact that you don't like bananas themselves is enough. Clearly banana flavored Laffy Taffy are artificially flavored and don't count against you. Welcome to the League!

What about those poor allergic people who had to learn how to put on a condom using a banana as a phallus substitute? That's just cruel.
