The suit is a little too New 52 for my tastes (glad there is no mandarin collar!), but I think he looks great. Exactly what I think a CW Superman would look like.

It could be much worse...
Yeah, but all those pictures are of Supes with the full beard. When it comes to facial hair, I say go big or go home. Either clean shaven or full beard.

We're going to need a new thread title. Supergirl is on the CW starting Monday. I'm thankful that they are re-airing the first season. The wife didn't want to watch this show because she found her to be far too perky for her liking. I find this show to be rather infectious. The humor and wit is fun, the effects are good, and there's just the right amount of soap opera drama to keep it entertaining.

Looking good! Loved Cat Grant's reaction to Clark Kent, the Gotham City reference, and Winn's question to Superman! Can't wait!

Anyone watch Supergirl last night? I loved it! Moving to the CW might just be what Supergirl needed. Lots of action, character moments, and I thought Tyler Hoechlin was great as Superman.

Anyone watch Supergirl last night? I loved it! Moving to the CW might just be what Supergirl needed. Lots of action, character moments, and I thought Tyler Hoechlin was great as Superman. My initial reaction is this - I have some mixed feelings about Tyler as Superman and I have a hard time accepting his costume and I thought he and Supergirl has it's moments, great action together, but I wished they had cast Tom Welling in the role instead. But, CW wanted someone fresh and new and having said that - I thought Tyler was an excellent choice but seeing him last night I've have some negative (some, but little) feelings that I just don't have a handle on about his appearance as Superman. I'm thinking of watching it again on my ON DEMAND cable system in a day or two to get a better feel of him.

As I was watching, I really didn't pay much attention to the costume. I "saw" him, the s-shield, red and blue, and the cape. Really can't explain it...it's like I saw Superman...and not the costume if that makes any sense. I also liked the references that were thrown in here and there, especially Cat's new assistant.

I watched it again on my Cable On-Demand System and I thought that Tyler wasn't all that bad and I was shocked to see that he's an inch shorter than Henry and that's stunned me. He is only 6 feet tall. Melissa is 5'8 and with them is an natural pair for the show itself. I just hope that they treat his future appearances on that show the same way of what Television did with George Reeves of which they hired short actors and actresses to make him more believable. If CW follow that advice - Tyler would make an excellent Superman for Television and I would put him on par with Dean Cain. Looking real good so far ... mrjupiter!

I re-watched that show late last night and I thought that Tyler was more rugged than Dean Cain and many of female fans at the LCS thinks that Tyler can give Henry Cavill a run for his money. I think that suit is far better than Henry. Anyway, Supergirl is looking pretty good start for the 2nd Season.

He just feels right as Superman. That inexplicable natural sense of comfort and ease where watching him you saw the character, not the actor, not the costume, and he did everything "right" which didn't take you out of the moments when he was on. Liked how when he entered the DEO everyone was in awe except for Manhunter. Liked his interactions with Supergirl and how much more human and lighter in tone this version of Superman is versus the movies. Warner Brothers take note please and make the movie Supe's more like this and maybe then people may actually enjoy the movies more!

Wow. Tyler Hoechlin is everything I was hoping the movie version of Superman would be.

Wow. Tyler Hoechlin is everything I was hoping the movie version of Superman would be. I liked this version of Superman, but moreso than the actor involved, I chalk a likable Superman up to the fact that the fingers of David Goyer, Zach Snyder, and Christopher Nolan are nowhere near this show. -M
