Another of my guilty pleasures is the work of S. Clay Wilson: deeply unsettling, violent and perverse yet there is an odd beauty to the ugliness he depicts. It's like a traffic fatality: I can't look away no matter how much I know I should.

I guess "The Boys " with its over the top violence has to qualify.

1950s Batman stories, with all the bad science fiction plots, moronic villains like Polka-Dot Man, and Bat-Mite showing up every other issue.

I was a big fan of Kickers Inc when it came out, and yes, even then I knew it was not good.

Why would I be guilty about reading a book?

Why would I be guilty about reading a book? I wanted to make a Fahrenheit 451 joke here, but it didn't work out. Let's all pretend it did. On topic: François Marcela-Froideval's work (specifically the Black Moon Chronicles). It is not great writing; the characters are wafer-thin, none of them are sympathetic in any way, plots are barely there, mostly it being a bunch of sex and over-the-top violence. And I still enjoy it.

The Golden Age Wonder Woman comics are great! Lots of fun! Totally bonkers! The origin in Wonder Woman #1 is one of my very top favorite comic-book stories ever. And the All-Star Comics revival is also fun. Let me know if I steered you right on that one. It's got great art but it's really weird at times. And if you're a newcomer to the series, you may never have heard the rumor about Power Girl that has been bouncing around the Comic-Book Community and (eventually) the Internet since the 1970s. Supposedly artist Wally Wood joked that he was going to draw Power Girl's breasts larger in every issue until somebody noticed and made him stop. Here's one of my favorite discussions on this highly important issue: Power Girl: You Be the Judge.

I will probably adore Power Girl, and I cannot wait to read her!

Agreed with all of this - Comics always need giant kangaroos capable of space travel. But be warned they are wordy. As. $%^@. It takes a while to get through 'em.

My biggest comic book guilty pleasure is of a weird nature since I think that most people who read it consider it good, but it's universally considered as gross and offensive : Angry Youth Comix! I sherish those issues so much and often randomly display those in strategic spots in the house such as the bathroom. Angry Youth Comix is definitely NOT guilty pleasure comics! Some of the best comedic and un-PC comics ever made that are just so wrong it's brilliant. Boobs Pooter is genius!

I would have to say Penthouse Comix. The writing on most of the stories are decent, the nudity is great but man, the line up of artist Arthur Suydam brought in for that series is brilliant. Adam Hughes, Gray Morrow, Russ Heath, Kevin Knowlan,Mark Beachum, Alphonso Azpiri, Alfonso Font, Dan Berry, Jason Pearson... some serious gorgeous artwork.
