#100, Sub-MarinerVillains Counter ... DC Comics 0 .... Marvel Comics 1 From WikipediaNamor the Sub-Mariner (Namor McKenzie) is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Debuting in early 1939, the character was created by writer-artist Bill Everett for Funnies Inc., one of the first "packagers" in the early days of comic books that supplied comics on demand to publishers looking to enter the new medium. Initially created for the unreleased comic Motion Picture Funnies Weekly, the Sub-Mariner first appeared publicly in Marvel Comics #1 (Oct. 1939) – the first comic book from Timely Comics, the 1930s–1940s predecessor of the company Marvel Comics. During that period, known to historians and fans as the Golden Age of Comic Books, the Sub-Mariner was one of Timely's top three characters, along with Captain America and the original Human Torch. Everett said the character's name was inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem, "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner". Everett came up with "Namor" by writing down noble sounding names backwards and thought Roman/Namor looked the best. The mutant son of a human sea captain and a princess of the mythical undersea kingdom of Atlantis, Namor possesses the super-strength and aquatic abilities of the Homo mermanus race, as well as the mutant ability of flight, along with other superhuman powers. Through the years, he has been alternately portrayed as a good-natured but short-fused superhero, or a hostile invader seeking vengeance for perceived wrongs that misguided surface-dwellers committed against his kingdom. The first known comic book antihero,[3] the Sub-Mariner has remained a historically important and relatively popular Marvel character. He has served directly with the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Invaders, the Defenders, the X-Men and the Illuminati as well as serving as a foil to them on occasion. From MeOne thing about this character that's he gets around from the Golden Age of Comics and to present day. He had quite of hist ory and having said that I have problems with him as a Villain, Anti-Hero, Super Hero, and so forth that I had no choice to rank him Number 100 in my list. It is the easiest decision that I made and I'm sticking with it. His dealing with Doctor Doom is legendary and these two makes a formidable pair! Great start to the countdown! If I was built like Namor, I'd just run around in a pair of trunks too!

#99, Crimson DynamoVillains Counter ... DC Comics 0 .... Marvel Comics 2 One of my friends told me the other day that Crimson Dynamo is often mistaken for Silver Centurion Iron Man and that's can confused some fans of Iron Man; but not me and I just wanted to point that out to all of you here. One of the most popular villains being used in two cartoon shows: The 1st one is:The Valentin Shatalov version of Crimson Dynamo appears in The Super Hero Squad Show episode "Tales of Suspense", voiced by Jess Harnell. He collaborates with Doctor Doom and Melter as part of a plot to discredit Iron Man. The 2nd one is:The Anton Vanko version of Crimson Dynamo appears in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, voiced by Chris Cox. He joins the Masters of Evil and is seemingly killed during the first season. He survives and appears in season 2. This version that I really liked the most and having said that ... I've enjoyed watching this show in the 1st season of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The reasons why I liked him because of these two cartoons shows that's reinforces me to rethink my list of 100 favorite villains and having said that - I find him to be a formidable foe for Invincible Iron Man. He's worthy to be on this list.

More Crimson DyanmoTwo favorite adventures of Iron Man and Crimson Dynamo battling out in Tales of Suspense here; I have these two Comic Books in my collection. Numbers 52 and 46. In an added bonus - Black Widow made an appearance in this issue and that's why this issue is one of the most memorable in Marvel's history. This is the version that I grew up and it's always be my favorite costume of the Crimson Dynamo. Crimson Dynamo at 99!

#98, The DestroyerVillains Counter ... DC Comics 0 .... Marvel Comics 3 As you all know, that I'm very weak on Marvel's Characters and this is a very new character that I hardly knew about because I was reading the Mighty Thor through the Avengers back in the 60's and on. I was introduced to this character through the first movie of Thor starring Chris Hemsworth. Fire Blast Destroyer from ThorYou Tube Extended Scene with Thor battling the DestroyerShorter VersionJack Kirby rendering of the DestroyerHe's fairly new and I was very impressed by this character in this film and having said that ... this villain is a winner in my book.

#97, RhinoVillains Counter ... DC Comics 0 .... Marvel Comics 4 He's has been a favorite of mine when I was a kid and as I gotten older my appreciation of him is rather mixed. As a kid, I prefer him in this costume below rather the blue one. Because it's looks more like a rhinoceros (pictured below) and the Cover of a popular Spiderman Comic Book that I wanted to point out. Brown and Brown ... the version in this cover is spot-on and this version that I accept! The one in the blue-grey one pictured below in many comic books that I seen in my lifetime and this one to me is a fake Rhino! Why, because his horns are light blue and I don't accept this version of Rhino in my book and therefore did not get a higher ranking than Number #97. By the way, I do have this copy of this book! ... Got it in a second hand bin for a buck back in the early 80's!

#100 seems about right to me for Namor. Sometimes I like him, sometimes I can't stand him. I haven't read a lot of Crimson Dynamo appearances, really just from Marvel Masterworks Iron Man vols 1 and 2, probably. The Destroyer was on the cover of the first (or second?) superhero comic I ever bought - Fantastic Four #172! He is certainly a cool looking character, and as a cool name. The Rhino is my favorite animal. The animal, that is, not the Spidey villain. However, my affection for the animal also gives me a soft spot for the villain Rhino.

Crimson Dynamo: I recently read his introduction story in a Marvel Masterworks. While his design may be a bit cumbersome looking, for the times it was quite fitting. Enjoyed the story and the art!
