#91, Ultra-HumaniteVillains Counter ... DC Comics 4 .... Marvel Comics 6 I have never, ever liked him in the comic books that I read and furthermore - I prefer him in Cartoon Format like in the Justice League Unlimited and that's it. It's really sad to say this but all the villains from 91 to 100 has been very frustrating to me on a personal level that I just can't place a finger at it. To me, Marvel's Sasquatch is much, much better looking than this weird looking character that DC Comics has created in the first place. I just think if they had tone down the hair a bit - I would had accepted him more and that's pretty much that all I can stay of him. And, the sad thing about him - I just can't remember a memorable story in the Comic Book World that I can honestly say that he was memorable in. Seriously!!? Ultra is one of my favourite DC villains of all time (along with the Wizard and the Psycho Pirate) and if you want a memorable story featuring him, you need look no further than the classic JLA/JSA team-up in JLA #195-197! Unforgettable... I love JLA #195-197! I read it (or rather an Australian reprint of it, although I now own the originals) early on when I seriously getting into superheroes and loved it. It is still my favourite JLA/JSA team-up and one of my all-time favourite stories. It introduced to me to so many great golden-age villains: Ultra-Humanite, Rag Doll, the Mist, the Monocle (and Psycho-Pirate, but he's actually silver age). I'd thoroughly recommend searching it out, Mecha. Does anyone know if it's been reprinted? Weren't DC doing trades of all the JLA/JSA team-ups a while back.

Dear All Members,I contacted the Comic Book Store (I'm a preferred customer) and ordered a fairly new hard copy of Crisis of Infinite Earths and they will ship it out to my home address in 10 days and I got it for $16.00 and that's includes shipping and handling. I received several recommendations from members here encouraging me to read it. The reason why I didn't read it in the first place I was too busy at work and never got around reading it and my friends at that time told me not to. So, now I decided to read it and I will try to give a short review on this thread about it. I should get it around the 23rd of November.

They did, yes, all of them in several volumes, as I recall, titled Crisis on Multiple Earths.

It's such a huge part of DC history, it's pretty much essential reading, but I think you'll like it anyway.

#90, Doctor SilvanaVillains Counter ... DC Comics 5 .... Marvel Comics 6 He's still a favorite of mine back in the 70's and the early 80's and after that I kind of forgotten all about him because I gotten a little tired of Captain (Shazam) Marvel and I needed a break from this character. He was a part of the Monster Society of Evil with Mister Worm; and that's made me realize that he should be on this list. t I completely forgot that his name was an acronym. He's one of the most wickedest villain that Captain Marvel had to face and here's the reason why! See below panel ... I remember it quite well and sadly can't remember the story that goes with it. Here's a couple of You Tubes that you might enjoy!

I still have my issues in long boxes. Enjoy.

#89, ApocalypseVillains Counter ... DC Comics 5 .... Marvel Comics 7 The reason that I liked him is in many incarnations of Comic Books, Animated TV Cartoons, Featured Hardcovers battling X-Factor, and all makes him a very formidable adversary and having said that I truly have an interest in this character. Apocalypse, also known as En Sabah Nur, is a fictional supervillain that appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is an immortal mutant and is usually portrayed as one of the main antagonists of the X-Men. Created by writer Louise Simonson and artist Jackson Guice, Apocalypse first appeared in X-Factor #5 (May 1986). One of the better designed character and I would rank him high on my list but low in favoritism. One of the meanest faces in Marvel Universe. His red eyes are piercing with evil. X-Men Apocalypse - Obsession , Season 3 Episode 36 is my favorite episode featuring this character. Complete Video. Origin of ApocalypseAnother great picture of him below you And, I also have this comic book featuring him ... one of the rare purchases in the eighties and I still have it. His character is quite memorable and I wished I could had ranked him higher than #89. But, I can't.

"No, you can't use the Owl in your X-men story. We got big things planned for the Owl - BIG, I tell ya!" Actually, now that I've typed that out, I realize I don't know anything about the Owl's history after the last time I saw him in an issue of Daredevil some time in the mid-70s, before the Frank Miller era - so for all I know he did become a major player in the MU later on. Also, I never knew he was a mutant - or was that going to be a new twist for the character, I wonder? Apocalypse came along after I'd stopped reading Marvel for some years so I'm not familiar with him at all, but from the visual design I always assumed he was another Darkseid surrogate, like Thanos or Mongul, only in this case tailored to Marvel's X-verse.

He basically is. As for the Owl, in 1983 he was one of the major players in a multi-part storyline in Spectacular Spider-Man, the 'Owl/Octopus war', after which he disappeared for several years. I can't think of any appearance he made between 1983 and about 1989. And he's definitely not a mutant.

#88, AresVillains Counter ... DC Comics 6 .... Marvel Comics 7 I just loved this costume - especially the mask, gloves, and the great details that they put into it. One of Wonder Woman most formidable foes - Ares the God of War was seemingly impossible to defeat by every means necessary. I consider him quite a hand full and sadly I knew him after Post Crisis and he had his own realm and all. From Wikipedia Despite being Zeus' son, Ares never fit in with the other gods of Olympus and created his own realm, the Areopagus. Aphrodite, the patron of the Amazons, swore that her women would save the world with love from the hatred and warfare of Ares, meaning he opposed their creation. Recently, through his deceit and manipulations, Ares deposed Hades and became ruler of the underworld. I have copies of these two books. I consider the Perez, Wein, and Patterson version better. Both of these stories are quite good and I do love the art in Perez book much better than Wonder Woman #82. My favorite cartoon video featuring Ares and Wonder Woman.

I prefer the silver age look of Despero rather than the 80s/90s version. The silver age look was truly alien looking. The later look was generic and more like an Image character. I'm not sure how switching the head fin sideways makes a pink humanoid "truly alien looking"...

#87, ThanosVillains Counter ... DC Comics 6 .... Marvel Comics 8 The Darkseid of Marvel ComicsOne of most imposing Marvel Villains around, and one of the most dangerous indeed. I mean dangerous in true sense of the word. I consider the Infinity Gauntlet one of his greatest adventure ever and I read it ten years later because I did not had any time reading comics in the early 90's because I was working nearly 65 hours a week that year when it first came out. It was mind blowing and this six issues run puts him at #87 and I'm truly sorry for all those Thanos fans out there because that's only print series that I have of him. I read a couple of other adventures as well and he made an impression on me as a Super Villain. His first appearance With Captain Marvel - I believe it was - Captain Marvel #25–33 (bi-monthly: March 1973 – Jan. 1974)Infinity Gauntlet PicturesCool Picture of ThanosSuper Villain Origin - ThanosI have seen many cartoons featuring him and that helps him a lot too.

A truly awesome design by George Perez.
