But.. but.. Mazzucchelli on art! You could have a toddler write Daredevil and it would still be pretty good!

I hated O'Neil's Daredevil run nearly as much as his Iron Man. He managed to drive me away from both books. Revisiting both a few years ago for indexing purposes only reinforced my feelings about them. Cei-U! I summon the double negative! I loved O'Neil's Daredevil run nearly as much as his Iron Man. He managed to drive me toward both books. Revisiting both every few years only reinforced my feelings about them. I summon the double enjoyment! See what I did there?

I like the 90's Spider-Man clone saga in all it's convoluted glory. There I said it.

My feelings of the issue in spoiler tag. That is a great issue and should have been a final goodbye to Aunt May with her death.
When it's revealed that May knew that Peter is Spider-Man... Right there, everything you know about Peter and May’s relationship is changed forever, and, in my mind, for the BETTER. She’s turned from a doddering old fool to a woman so strong that she never even showed the strain of carrying such a startling secret for YEARS without ever sharing even a hint of it. May is a smart cookie, after all, and she takes the moment of shock to tell him that he doesn’t have to run from the spectre of Uncle Ben any longer. “You’re as good a man as your Uncle,” she tells him, expressing her pride at his selfless behavior, before a bout of weakness overtakes her and she tells Peter that it’s time to go home. May Parker holds Peter’s hand, and he tells her that it’s okay to let go, reminding her of the stories she read to him when he was a boy. “Second to the right, and straight on til morning,” sobs Peter, as May finally slips away, and the scene of Peter leaning in to hug her one final time chokes me up every time. I’m stunned at how powerful and touching this sequence is. Just beautiful. No matter how bad people think the clone saga is at least it gave us 'The Gift." Spoiler tags used not to ruin it for a certain somebody. You know who you are.

Spoiler tags used not to ruin it for a certain somebody. You know who you are. Very well said cooper. And Mark Bagley's art, complete with Scarlet Spider on the roof crying outside of the moment didn't help either. If anything, though my feelings are mixed at this point, it produced ASM #400, which is a fanomonal single issue. Nice neologism! Damning with faint praise? No damning the spell check not catching it. :-)

Booster Gold is one of the most repugnant heroes to be created in the last 40 years. His whole shtick is that he stole items from the future and came to the present to make money off it. What a sack of crap.
I said it.

Maybe if his uncle was killed in his first appearance by the criminal he let go while using his powers to make money he would have stopped using his powers that way and become a real hero... -M

Or Booster is no more of a selfish schmuck motivated by greed and the desire for fame than Peter Parker, but only one of them got someone killed and had guilt motivate them to become a hero. All depends on perspective. -M
