I'm frowning on those who (still) feel the need to clip the price from the dust jacket of a vintage hardcover. I'm searching for one in particular and it's a common flaw, even if the rest of the book is in excellent shape. Really, really stupid practice from indifferent people who then still try to sell the book.
I remember my family always did that with books as gifts, sort of an old-fashioned “don’t be tacky and leave the price showing”. I think it came from a place of trying to be polite, but yeah, I can see it being an issue later for collectors. But if it was already vintage, I can’t imagine clipping it, just on new retail. You would hate my hardcovers, I throw away most of the dust jackets lol!

Star Wars has collectively, in its expansive history in various media and merch, brought countless joy to so many. Fantasy action in a sci-fi setting, great visuals, humor, it’s been covered so many times before. So we’ll keep our happy little club while folks on the outside are mystified. Because “if you know”, “you know”, you know? And knowing is half the battle… I can get behind this. I have little to no interest in Star Wars since I was a youngin'. But I have no beef for those who enjoy it and am happy that it as a franchise still entertains. Now I just wish the movies in the Aliens franchise could get back on track. They recently have been abyssal. There I said it.

Universes, multiverses, wars, treks, trilogies, adventures, raucous good times, chillers, thrillers, dramas, and anything else - as long as the writing and execution are good, I'm happy to watch it.
So many properties get everything right except the writing. Story first.
And EXPLOSIONS!!!!!
(Michael Bay intensifies)

Wow! I tend to love the artwork on the DJs, but in some circumstances I might take them off and carefully put them away in plastic so they don't get wear and tear.
I did find a copy of the book I wanted without any clipping, but with a tear and dog-eared on the front cover so again, a compromised DJ....groan.

Except for maybe "Spud-o-con", who transforms into a giant golden russet baked potato.
Butter not included.

Lol impulse Surely you can't not enjoy Autobots & Dinobots vs Decepticons?! I haven't tried yet. The last Transformers movie I made it through was 3. The first 90 minutes was some of the most boring, forgettable schlock I've ever seen. The last hour was 3D IMAX mesmerizing eye-candy spectacle that was admittedly cool to watch. I should watch the Dinobots one eventually.

Speaking of Transformers and "There, I said it"....
I just rewatched all the seasons of the G1 cartoon this week plus the movie. It struck me how GOOD the storytelling could be at times, and how gorgeous the visuals were. Cybertron stuff is like straight-up Sci-Fi, forget the "oh, it's just a toy commercial" nonsense. I'd put some of the best story arcs up there as better than most 60's comics.
There, I said it...fire away at me haha!!

There are almost too many different iterations of reprints of the EC books. It's honestly hard to decide what format to go for...recognizing that there are issues with availability for a lot of them.

And while I'm at it, it surprises me that with the renewed interest in the Nancy comic strip in the last decade there hasn't been a significant attempt to reprint it in a decade.

The best is without question the IDW Artist Editions, with the original art pages reproduced in full size, There is no better way to appreciate this work. But they are very expensive and only reprint selective stories. My favorite for reading whole series is the Cochran Library of B&W reprints. Which I believe were done from the original art Bill Gaines still had.

There, I said it. Yeah, and since I was kind've outta comics when all of the different versions started appearing, I didn't even bother.
Also, though when I started trying to read ECs, originals were almost the easiest way to do it, when they became plentiful, the repetition became too apparent.
There, I said it.

I was lucky enough to complete my collection of the complete Russ Cochran/Gemstone floppy reprints from the 1992-2000 publishing run, but that's a task in itself. There's 297 individual issues spread over 21 different titles, not including the first 23 MAD issues, which were also originally in comic format. Unfortunately, most people are not receptive to compiling the EC titles in such a manner, especially since they've been long out of print and the print runs were small to begin with. I had a head start, and was buying many of them as they came out back in the day. Even so, It took me years to complete the collection, and that was long after they had been published (I quit actively collecting in 1996 and didn't re-start until 2008).
The hardbound versions are hit-or-miss, as some of the earlier oversized slipcased Gladstone and Cochran volumes are reproduced in black and white, which is a deal breaker for some. Good luck in your searches.
Here's an alphabetical list of the titles reprinted as floppies-- not sure if all of them have been reproduced in collected editions, though, particularly the later "New Direction" titles: (I've also linked them to their GCD checklist pages for reference). With the Russ Cochran/Gemstone reprints, each title is re-numbered sequentially and chronologically, instead of using the original numbering, which can be confusing due to original series numbering often being a continuation of numbering from an older non-related title.
The 23 comic issues of MAD were reprinted in magazine-size format from 1997-1999 in 8 issues (3 complete comics per issue) under the original title of " Tales Calculated to Drive You Mad"
One other note-- the Gemstone reprints should not be confused with the earlier Gladstone reprints, which were double-size books with two reprints per issue, and frequently with a cover unrelated to the actual issues reprinted within. I avoid the Gladstone floppy reprints altogether.

I have all the Cochran EC Science fiction hard covers. In glorious black and white, which I prefer.
