Somebody beat you to it... according to the CGC Census, there are 71 CGC graded copies of #1, ranging from 9.8-5.5 in grades. Now if you want a slabbed copy of #6, there are only 3 CGC graded copies 2x 9.8 and a 9.6. -M P.T. Barnum was right.

I actually noticed a little surge in demand for the Star Comics line as a whole about 2 years ago. There had always been a little bit of interest in the He-Man and Droids stuff because of their fanbases, but even things like Wally The Wizard was coming out of dollar boxes and fetching $5-$10 a copy in high grade at shows or at Lonestar. It coincided a bit with the start of the growth surge of the YA GN market in the book trade, and part of me suspected it was parents of the kids interested in those books nostalgic for the "kids" comics of their youth, and the Star Line fits that timeline pretty well. -M

That's about it.

The November, 1986 issues of Star Comics, which have the Marvel 25th anniversary frame covers, can go for a lot of money. People trying to put together a whole set often get stuck on the Star issues, especially if they are trying to do a high grade set. Muppet Babies #10, for instance, can go for $50-90 for high grade raw, and CGC copies for more.

Howard was a small end credit cameo, People were looking at Rocket and Groot after GOTG. Peter Porker had a bigger role in Spiderverse. tartanphantom pointed out to me in the zoom meeting that it's NOT a cameo if the character never appeared before that appearance. Yes, P.T.Barnum rules.

When an actor shows up in a scene, it's a cameo. He doesn't need to be part of the movie. Howard is not a new character in the Marvel U.

I don't think he was disagreeing with your use of the word cameo, I think he was just making a slightly non-sequitur point to the frequent improper use of the term used by some collectors when referring to a character's one-panel or one-page first appearance e.g.-- Hulk #180... which is not a Wolverine "cameo" as some people call it, but is a true first appearance of the character by name within a storyline. But I dont' really want to go down that road... fandom has already (albeit erroneously) crowned #181 as the "first appearance" with their wallets, so be it.
After all, Howard had already been in film well before GTOG-- although based on the lack of success of H. Duck's film debut, I'm sure Marvel would like to pretend that it never happened.

Y'all are burying the lead with those CGC'ed Strawberry Shortcakes... the '9.8' number one has some seriously rounded corners, which the '9.2' looks brand new.
Maybe this is why I don't care about grades... they make no sense to me.

This is my favourite 3-D comic....I actually put on the glasses and it's very nicely done. Always impresses anyone who gets a look at it. The copy below is just to illustrate, I've also got 2 copies sealed in their original polybags.
There, it leapt out at me.

I'm a sucker for 3-D comics. I have a bunch of 80s indy 3-D books (Blackthorne did a bunch, I bought a couple at the time but pick them up if I see them in dollar bins, other like Eclipse did some too). The gold standard for me are the St. John's 3-D books from the 50s though, in particular Kubert's Tor in 3-D. -M

Same here. I bought a lot of the Blackthorne books in their 80's heyday. I have both issues of St. John's " Three Dimension Comics"- both issues feature Mighty Mouse and Terrytoons characters... sadly, no Tor to be seen in these books.
Never seen the Danger Girl book though. Thanks, @rags for pointing out yet another one to put on my list!

Blackthorne also did a series of Gumby 3-D comics that I was pretty fond of in my youth. Unfortunately they were a part of my original comic book collection that was tossed out due to bad grades when I was around 12 or 13

Those things just give me headaches. I bought that Byrne Batman one, which included his new story and an old 3D comic reprint and I couldn't get through more than about 4 pages, before I had a splitting headache.
