Art Adams is a brilliant artist. I'm not saying that these aren't nice, but I'd like to set a rule that any post defending a comic artist as a comic artist has to use panel pages, not covers or pinups.

That's a really good point, and I'm guilty of it plenty of times as well. Visual storytelling is a huge part of an artist's job, beyond the cool pinups. Not that I'm knocking Adams in this regard, your comment just resonated with me in general.

I don't see what's so special about Art Adams. There I said it. How can you not love this? Possibly due to this work appearing like it was influenced by a discount John Byrne, which cannot be a good thing.

Art Adams can draw circles around Byrne. He may not be the storyteller John is but as a draftsman he's superb.
Cei-U! I summon one artist's opinion!

But like Adam Hughes and others, he is primarily known as a cover artist.

Wow! Now that is one HELL of a good variation of Man-Thing!

Sorry, kirby101, but he's another artist who could not illustrate an appealing Spider-Man even if his life depended on it.

I disagree

Sometimes I think more comics (not necessarily all) should just be in black and white, a lot of the B&W examples above jump out at me more than the color ones. I guess that's a "there, I said it" of its own!

I've been finding the same thing as I read newer comics: This newfangled computer coloring looks great in itself, but it really hides the linework. I have a hard time pulling anyone's individual styles out.

I don't see what's so special about Art Adams. There I said it. I never said he couldn't draw nice Images, I think he's too popular for the little amount of actual comic work he's done. How many comic pages has he produced? Anyone can draw a cover. I have the same problem with Steranko.

Does that make Danielle Steele a better writer than Harper Lee?
Cei-U! Just trying to understand!
