Look at Star Boy's face here. This is why I love these guys so much. Lana Lang is crazy. Pencils and inks by the underrated George Papp. I bet this looks even better on newsprint.

I bet this looks even better on newsprint. Smells better, too. I want all the superboys and Adventure comics in regular copies. The Archives books are beautiful, but I think the coloring is off. Like, is Star Boy's silver age costume really magenta with a yellow star? Or is it red with a yellow star?

If it's supposed to be magenta then it's actually NOT off in the Archives.

It is in the pic I posted, but it's mostly Magenta throughout the story. I didn't even notice it was red there. Der. Sorry.

I asked because a lot of the time, reds will be colored as magenta in Archives or masterworks.

Pencils and inks by the underrated George Papp. Underrated is right--he had a clear, appealing style. Papp was one of the casualties of the 1968 bloodbath at DC, when several long-time DC freelancers including Kurt Schaffenberger, Arnold Drake and George Klein were let go (i.e. stripped of their steady assignments) after they dared to ask about benefits/owner rights. Drake and Klein then picked up Marvel assignments. Klein went from being Swan's usual inker on Superman and the Adventure LSH series to inking John Buscema on the Avengers (not too shabby). In my eyes he's still the definitive Buscema inker. Unfortunately he died about a year and half after coming over to Marvel, I remember when it was announced in the Bullpen Bulletins.

I swear, back when I first saw that Seinfeld episode I screamed at the TV "Mon-El!"
Loved the Superman and other comic book references in that show.
