An old friend showed up in the mail today, my absolute favorite poster as a kid, the 80's Giffen "every Legion character"! A couple of closer shots: So cool!! That is so awesome!!

I didn't read the Legion at the time, but I think that while leafing through an issue I saw Laurel Kent turning out to be a Manhunter during the Millenium crossover. Is that really what happened?

Yep, did not see that one coming when I was reading the series as a kid, and honestly, it felt more weird to me than some clever amazing twist. Kind of threw away a somewhat interesting character for not so much payoff IMO.

Whelp, less than one month and counting for the Legion Finest Collection Can't wait, definitely gonna pre-order it "This first collection starring the greatest heroes of the 30th century features long out-of-print tales from November 1968 to July 1974, such as War of the Wraith-Mates, The Fatal Five Who Twisted Time, and The Impossible Target, pulled from the pages of ACTION COMICS #378-387 and #389-392, ADVENTURE COMICS #374-380 and #403, and SUPERBOY #172-173, #176, #183-184, #188, #190-191, #193, #195, and #197-203."

Great looking trade, and a really fun era with the transition from the end of the classic Adventure run all the way into co-headlining the Superboy book and that great Dave Cockrum art (plus the first Mike Grell issue!). I have a soft spot for those Action comics back-up stories too in between. The Wildfire introduction as "ERG-1" in Superboy #195 alone is such a classic. Plus a fair amount of the all too rare Chemical King appearances, who never got his due IMO. Hope you enjoy it!

Timber Wolf...the original Wolverine! And of course when Cockrum created the Legion homage at Marvel with the Shi’ar Imperial Guard in X-Men, Fang was the Timber Wolf copy. And then Wolverine took and wore Fang’s costume at one point, so you might say Wolvie briefly became T-Wolf, in a manner of speaking haha.
