It was pretty odd, wasn't it? Timber Wolf even had one of the best Silver Age costume out of the Legionnaires: Yes! I was going to say that too--I love that costume. Sleek.

I remember that well. Great intro story, with Light Lass pining away for him, in typical good-girl-loves-bad-but-misunderstood-boy fashion, but then he just vanished. Right! He warns her not to get close to him because he's not human (he thinks he's an android). I only read it for the first time a few years ago and I have to say I found it very touching. How ironic...

I'm OK with Superboy and Supergirl being in the Legion, but I don't consider them an essential part of the Legion. I'd think it great even without them. I consider Superboy's role more important in a symbolic sense than in a physical presence one. Even if he's only sporadically showing up, his role as the inspiration for the Legion is what makes them interesting as a team. Yeah, I like Superboy as the team's inspiration, and while I don't mind him on the team, I certainly don't see him as an essential member, as some people seem to.

This book right here: has changed me, I think. *sigh* I want to read it non-stop. It makes me happy. I find it endearing. It makes me nostalgic for a time I never lived in. I love it.

Like, this is some great stuff. It's hilarious. Of course, I'm still in the early parts of the book, so it's mostly Superboy issues, but I love it.

The 2 or 3 posts saying they won't buy books with Superman in them baffle me.

The 2 or 3 posts saying they won't buy books with Superman in them baffle me. Superman or superboy? Either/or. Same with Supergirl and other supporting characters. It's like some one telling me they avoid Star Trek or Star Wars or Stargate or Doctor Who or Firefly or Ghostbusters or Orphan Black or Spider-Man....why deny yourself fun?

So far, in this early silver age stuff I am reading, sure Superboy stars in it, but it's great because the LoSH really screws with him and screws him over, and he cries sooooooo much.

I wonder if, as I read the DC Archives, if I should put up pics, a short summary, and then a short thought on it? I cannot commit to do it consistently, but I can try to do it when I can.
Or maybe just my thoughts on it so that I don't spoil any issues that others might not have read?
