I fully expect it to be a box office success, it's a big screen adaptation of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman after all. But I don't expect the reviews to be great. Snyder's efforts never rise above mediocre. He can make a decent popcorn flick here and there, but they also tend to be way too drawn out and are filled with eye rolling moments. I personally would've loved to see someone like George Miller make a movie like this.

Not exactly Batman V. Superman news but J.K. Simmons has been cast as Jim Gordon in the Justice League movie.

Snyder has said that the home video version of BvS is going to be R-rated. An R-rated Superman film?? Gee, no-one can ever say that DC/Warners don't completely understand their market.

Saw another summary of 21 major sources (newspapers, film magazines etc) : Most of the reviews seem to be lukewarm-to-negative with a few broadly positive, and no raves.

Exactly what I expected with Snyder in charge. A completely mediocre effort with a few high points here and there but is otherwise totally forgettable. I'll still go see it, but my expectations are pretty low.

About the movie's new interpretation of Batman, here's what the BBC had to say :
Really?
I was waiting for that?
I loved The Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come, but I don't insist on Batman being a cranky old fascist. I liked Adam West's Batman just fine, or Eneglehart's or Moench's.

LOL It sounds more like a Punisher review than a Batman review

I wonder if the person who wrote that, has even watched the movie. Granted, it's "based" on TDKR, to the extent were Snider will even steal some lines, but Affleck's Batman has little to do with the one we saw in that comic.

Maybe all that would have made it "murder" will be in the extra half hour that gives the movie an "r" rating for the home video release. -M
