Look what I found... another bursting through the ring cover. (1945) Though this wasn't the debut of Winky, Blinky and Curly... er... Noddy.

And how about these, published just a few months apart? (July and December 1942, respectively.)

Not a cover Homage but... ...straight-out swipe? Including the background, I'm sure. What comic is the swipe from?

A comic that was published be the 90's called Big Bang. All their comics were homages to the silver and golden ages.

I have about 10-15 issues of the Big Bang comics and they were mildly entertaining. But how much mileage can you get out of obvious rip offs of established characters? These are some other examples. They even got Dave Cockrum to draw the cover to the LSH dopplegangers.

Glad to see Big Bang Comics mentioned as I'm an enormous fan of their work. Though the characters themselves were obvious analogs for mostly DC heroes of the Golden/Silver Age, the stories themselves were original pieces which took only the feel of the eras it replicated. Nevertheless, since this is a thread about homage artwork...
One of the things I liked about Big Bang was their ability to duplicate the style of an artist who wasn't normally associated with the character they were depicting. ie. Big Bang's Batman proto-type The Knight Watchman by way of Will Eisner and Jack Kirby
Ultiman (their Superman prototype) as he would have appeared as a Marvel/Timely or Fawcett character
I'm surprised the series doesn't get brought up more often on these forums.
