So long as we're including fan films, my favorite Batman costume was definitely the one in Batman: Dead End: It's the only one that's ever made the way the costume is depicted in the comics look believable. Wow, those are some really good effects for a fan film!

To be honest I thought the Avengers movie was an absolute mess. Too much CGI, too much shaky cam, the action scenes seemed disorienting. I guess that's what happens when half the characters fly. Also the movie never seemed to slow down. Non stop fight scenes, with a punchline here and there, and countless references to things a casual moviegoer would never understand. A billion dollars' worth of casual moviegoers didn't seem to have a problem with any of that. Or they just ignored that part for the shiny CGI explosions.

Man it's been a while since I saw that. I first saw it circa 2005 or so, when an acquaintance (the owner of a local game store) had this burned on DVD and showed it to me. He collected movie memorabilia, and apparently one of his suppliers helped out on the SFX of this and had given him a copy. I forgot how good it was.

Dead End looks passable, to me, but even as fan films go, the acting and script just destroy it for me. And, my bar's low; I've seen Alice in Murderland three or four times and still enjoy it. For me, the costume's got to be workable in the world, and supported by the tone, the acting, how it's shot, etc. I don't mind the rubber ears of Captain America in the Pyun movie, or the skin-colored bits of Cutey Honey's costume in the live action Cutey Honey movie, because their shot to downplay it, and the earnestness pushed by the world and the actors makes it easy to ignore.
Dead End and TDKR make me perpetually aware how awkward their batsuits are in-world, in the settings and in regards to who's wearing them. Had they been forced to use a more prominent skull in Punisher: War Zone, I think it would've been a bad choice, even if that's what - in comics - makes Frank Castle immediately recognizable, because the way the movie is shot, the tone set, the settings used, and the portrayal of Castle aren't friendly to that kind of iconography.
I liked the BoP Batgirl costume, too, in addition to the classic 60s version.

Anyway, I think the main thing that has fully prevented me from enjoying live-action Spider-Man movies is that the villains are rarely ever represented visually in a satisfying way. Doctor Octopus is the only that hasn't looked completely ridiculous

I didn't think Electro looked terrible, but I'm always, always disappointed when he's not wearing the starfish mask.

Though I posted the Reeve pic, I *do* wish the cape was longer and maybe heavier. I like regal Superman. Heh, I feel the opposite. I wish the cape was shorter and I'm not at all a fan of the long and heavy cloak look. Love the way Quitely draws it ending above the knees: To me a shorter cape communicates action. To me that just looks like he wrapped his blanky around him.

I'm a fan of long cape, but without it going over his shoulders. Garcia-Lopez cape, essentially.

The live action Sailor Moon costumes looked good. Extra points for the Evil Mercury costume, for both looking good and looking silly enough to be what a teenager would throw together to prove she's all edgy now. I can't speak to how close the Mystery Men costumes are to their comics counterparts, but there were some great choices in them, and the main team's do look appropriately budget, compared to Captain Amazing's thirty thousand dollar muscle suit. To me that just looks like he wrapped his blanky around him. He does have his blanky wrapped around him. Superman is the Linus of superheroes.
