I came up on the X-Men, and I thought X1 and X2 were GREAT adaptations for the times in which they came out. They kept the essence and theme of the source material and executed in a way that worked with the aesthetics of the time.
Granted, if they made new X-Men movies starting now, I would expect a lot brighter costumes and superheroic vibes than dark leather and brooding from the times, thanks to the MCU, but X1 and X2 I liked a lot for what they did and when they did it.

I've disliked all the X-Men films I've watched (X1, X2, & First Class). I don't see them as adaptations of the comics; I see them as the comics after Bryan Singer wiped his ass with them.
Not being a great X-men fan (not that I have anything against them) I have little connection with the source material. Watching them from this position of blissful ignorance I would say they're some of the better Superhero movies I have seen.
I watched the first two before I got to reading the source material. I liked X1 at the time, but I never liked X2. Reading the comics has only made me dislike them more.

I grew up on the Fox Kids and Kids WB cartoons and only vaguely recall the first movie. I was never particularly interested in the comics aside from Excalibur. I felt Comico's Elementals, Eclipse's DNAgents, and even Valiant's Harbinger did the concept better overall

I was disappointed with Spider-Man 3 when I saw it in the theatre and never watched it again until recently. This time, however, I enjoyed it a LOT more. It still has its flaws (still would have been better without the Sandman plot) but what I found was that I could watch a superhero movie without having to remember the events of 20 other movies...and it was refreshing! I felt the same way when I re-watched The Incredible Hulk again recently. Sometimes I feel that the "MCU" was a mistake.
As for The Last Stand, the main problem was that they took two completely unrelated storylines (Dark Phoenix and the "cure" story from Astonishing) and shoved them together. And Dark Phoenix has no weight unless you have a long history of Jean, not just a couple ensemble flicks. The Dark Phoenix movie did it a little better by showing her past, but still not that good. Throwing in 1000 new characters didn't help, either. I do agree that the death of Cyclops was done well. The scene where they arrive and everything is floating was haunting.

I keep getting these warnings on my computer but I don't understand... No longer supporting means they aren't further developing it or offering, well, support. It still works... so why can't I just leave it as is? Why is it telling me to uninstall it?

It's known to be vulnerable to attacks (which is why iOS never supported it and the Mac stopped having it pre-installed ten years ago), and since security patches won't be provided anymore... it's safer to uninstall it. It'll still work for the foreseeable future, but a bit like an old house door that can't be locked anymore.

I don't usually buy 'refurbished' but in an emergency moment a few months ago, my cd/dvd burner had to be replaced and the only one on hand was a refurbished model that the technician gave me at around 15% the price of a new one. I had it installed expecting it to be a temporary thing until I get a new one altogether, but it's been working fine for the past 9 months. I don't even think it's a brand name model...
There, I burnt a new cd.

Oh, the conversion has been going on for a long while, now. I can't recall the last time I couldn't access something on the web for lack of a Flash player... it's been tears and years.

I always thought the Partridge Family show was better than the Brady Bunch show.
There I said it.

I always thought the Partridge Family show was better than the Brady Bunch show. There I said it. I always thought both were crap and actively avoided subjecting myself to either. Still do.

There, I said it.

I always thought the Partridge Family show was better than the Brady Bunch show. There I said it. Both were part of viewing as a youth growing up but haven't felt the desire to watch a full episode of either since. Will occasionally watch scenes when flipping thru the channels since the B Bunch is on Metv every Sunday and Antenna TV has The Partridge Family on Sat/ Sun. Both were part of growing, learning and my puberty so rose colored memories and all that ya know? Of course most us boys had our crushes on Marcia or Laurie at some point.I do have A Very Brady Christmas DVD I watch every few years.
