Ok, so I read X-O # 1 last night. I liked a lot of it, but, the hand ? and why didn't Aric do that sooner ? Really have no idea. It was established fairly early on in the original comic that Shanhara could create bio-organic prosthetics for it's hosts |

Yeah I liked it except for the hand thing and the last bit that should have happened earlier, but, this is the first of 12 and we'll see.
Still not sure if this is a reboot or a continuation, so that makes a difference too.
My understanding was this was a continuation of the last series but there's a gap of time between # 50 and this first issue of the maxi, but for the two points I've alluded to, I'm not sure if that's the case or not.
Matt Kindt, an author has had done astounding work with these characters and knows the background and history, is writing this, so I'm a little confused.

Really wish Valiant had actually told people that this was a "maxi-series" and not a new on-going. Because they did the exact same thing with Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior and Rai (at least with Rai they continued the series like half a year later and made a spectacle of it in the best possible way with the 4001 A.D. event) Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad, just kind of disappointed. It's like I'm still trying to wash the taste of Vendetti out of my mouth and the fact that this is a maxi isn't helping |

Vendetti's X-O was good up until the Unity crossover, then it just seemed to fall completely off the deep end

I read somewhere that this series pickups a few years after the end of the last series. I am LOVING this version. I know you liked Vendetti but I was never a fan of his work. This is hero-fantasy-science fiction done right! |

I didn't think it fell off, but, I'm liking what I'm reading and am glad it's been successful for Valiant.
The next hero to get this treatment will be Bloodshot.
Reading between the lines in a few recent interviews, it was hinted that Valiant is going to be introducing something akin to Earth-2, another dimension, etc. I wonder if any of this will tie in with that.
