Another tangent here: would anyone else like to see a Spider-Man TV show rather than a series of movies? Not near as dark as the Netflix ones, but with whole seasons released at once to maintain focus on the overarching story. That way, we could see villains like the Hobgoblin show up for an episode or two, while keeping one of Spidey's A-list villains as the overarching villain of the season. Past Spider-Man films have tried to use too many villains in one story, so hopefully this format could keep a wide variety of characters while avoiding the problems the movies had. This might never happen because they would need a higher CGI budget than with a show like Daredevil, but that would be really cool. I think the Netflix Marvel format is my favorite one for superheroes on screen. They have more time to develop the characters than they have in a film, but without the "villain of the week" format of weekly superhero shows. It also allows them to keep more focus on the overarching story rather than on a new villain each week. It feels like reading a long comic book storyline. I think this format would be great for Spider-Man (or Batman, for that matter), but the films' popularity will probably stop this from happening anytime soon.

Who wouldn't want to see Spider-man or Batman in Tv shows dude Getting to see new stories develop every week of such huge characters <3 but it will never happen :/

Marvel has already lifted the review embargo 3 weeks in advance, and so far Civil War has a 100% fresh rating on RT after 14 critical reviews.
Many saying the end battle at the airport is one of the greatest action scenes ever filmed.

I always try to stay clear of all spoilers for these movies but the news keeps announcing future movies. It seems that R Downey Jr. will appear in the Spider-man movie. I guess that rules out him dying in Civil war.

Civil War has done over $200 million in one weekend internationally, and hasn't opened in the US or in some major international markets yet.

I saw Captain America: Civil War last night and liked it a lot. In a sense, it's the offspring of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron, but I like it significantly more than either of those movies. It has less humor than the Joss Whedon Avengers movies, but I feel like the Russos does a better job at handling a massive cast of characters. It doesn't feel overstuffed. I found action scenes in those prior movies got tedious after a while, but Civil War deliver an epic all-time fight scene. This gives me a lot of confidence with how the Russos will handle the Avengers: Infinity War films (which I've read will now get two distinct titles rather than Part 1 and Part 2).

I agree that Civil War was excellent. Nothing stood out as a glaring problem. Spider-Man and black panther were fantastic and it continua ones a much better plot than that of the comics. With the exception of iron man 2, every movie so far in the MCU has been done well and ever since Avengers, they have really stepped up their game.
As a spidey fan I cannot wait. The thirty minutes or so you get in this film were already ten times better than the past three spidey films that have been done. I love the twist and his involvement here because it paves the way to his own movie without having to draw out a huge origin story.

I love the twist and his involvement here because it paves the way to his own movie without having to draw out a huge origin story. Skipping past Spidey's origin seems to be killing two birds with one stone. With two iterations of the origin story on film in recent years, fans might get impatient with a third version. Sony has got to be happy to enjoy the benefit of Spider-Man being promoted in an MCU film, but that pretty much necessitated skipping the origin. This sets up a different take on the character though, because he's already integrated rather than alone on the fringe. I think Tom Holland did a good job. After having two cinematic Peter Parkers portrayed by actors who were old enough to be med school graduates, it's interesting to have a Peter Parker who comes across as a teenager and actually is one. The one drawback is that his speech seems a bit affected, which sometimes happens with non-American actors doing American accents. Marisa Tomei is a different sort of Aunt May. She'll probably be much more capable than her comic counterpart. But she's also a much more plausible age to be the aunt of a high school student. I can't believe she's 51! She looks amazing. I never thought I'd say that about Aunt May.

Really, really good film. Best Spider-Man on film, by a very large margin. Surprisingly large part for Black Panther. Film played out quite differently to how I was expecting, some clever misdirection in the trailers.

Interesting, I got fooled by the members of the Comic Book Store that you need to read Marvel's Civil War before seeing this film and since you said it ... I was kind of surprised to read this and might well see the movie. The Movie Trailers at the theaters looking pretty cool. Thanks for letting me know ...
