Ah, but you couldn't read those anyway. That's cheating. I have a few collections that I refuse to read on philosophical grounds. They were gifts. I often find myself staring at them on my shelf in anger. I relegated them to "The Shelf of Shame" where all trades that go that under-preform and displease me. If they anger you, why not sell or donate them? At least they won't be there inspiring negative emotions.

I don't think I've ever used 'philosophical grounds' as a reason not to read a book (which has me curious what rubbed you the wrong way). Some things have made me a tad bit uncomfortable, such as the 'God' and 'Lucifer' in DAWN comics, though I reasoned in my mind it's a fictitious DAWN universe (I hope)....

I have a Disney digest book I bought in the Portugal airport as a souvenir, but unless I suddenly decide to study Portuguese I don't expect to ever read it. I also picked up a couple old copies of a book called "El Capitan Trueno" when I went to Spain, and don't expect to really read them.
However, I haven't bought anything in English which I don't intend to read (although it may take me a while to get to some of them). I've even bought some books in French from France and Belgium which I have read - at least enough to follow what's going on.

I have a Lois Lane annual from the early sixties that I bought to display in my vintage comics room. I flipped through it briefly, but I'm afraid to mess it up.

Of course not. Though I do have a Young Romance 100 page giant I've never been able to get all the way through.

I'll have what he's having! Absinthe? -M Well, either that or sodomy. Anyway, never bought anything that I didn't intend to read myself. Though the latin version of Asterix did tempt me.

Without exaggeration, I have three times now bought stacks of bargain bin issues (which I carefully selected), only to have the following somehow stuck to the back of one of them or otherwise slipped in to what I had picked out: I actually asked the shop manager if he was messing with me. He'd never seen the book before. So I wonder if I'm just cursed. Anyway, I have no intention of reading it. Not to cast aspersions, but if you have no intention of reading a comic book starring four koalas with guns, I have to wonder if you actually have a soul.

You know, according to wiki, this book not only has gun toting koalas, but an appearance of the adolescent radioactive black belt hamsters as well.
