I don't think I've ever used 'philosophical grounds' as a reason not to read a book (which has me curious what rubbed you the wrong way). Some things have made me a tad bit uncomfortable, such as the 'God' and 'Lucifer' in DAWN comics, though I reasoned in my mind it's a fictitious DAWN universe (I hope).... That didn't explain anything.

That didn't explain anything. Don't you get it? Giant baby duck = paradox = Satan. (Honestly, I didn't get it either).

The only time I've bought a book with no intention to read is was the recent ASM #1.. I bought a 2nd copy (the Newbury comics variant) because I had the regular on coming with DCBS, but I really wanted the Spidey swinging through Boston cover. While I do have a fairly large to read pile (probably about 1000 singles and 20 trades or so), I have every intention to reading them all.

Without exaggeration, I have three times now bought stacks of bargain bin issues (which I carefully selected), only to have the following somehow stuck to the back of one of them or otherwise slipped in to what I had picked out: I actually asked the shop manager if he was messing with me. He'd never seen the book before. So I wonder if I'm just cursed. Anyway, I have no intention of reading it. Obviously, the Universe wants you to read it. You've been chosen to bring this classic to the attention of a new generation. It's your duty, bro. Besides, how bad could it be? cough

I think I have it locked away somewhere in a basement pile of comics marked "to pass off on someone else one day," so I don't plan on going down there to fish it out anytime soon, unfortunately.

I've owned multiples of that, and do plan on reading it. I don't know if I purged it from the collection or not though. I may have gotten rid of all my TMNT ripoffs. I had quite a few.

I just bought the Steranko Detective Comics 75th Anniversary cover. I can assure everyone that I will never read it.

My read pile is out of control and growing, but I have every intention of reading them. For months now, I've not been able to really get comfortable enough to engage in heavy duty reading like I used to do, and I've fallen way behind. I hope it's just a phase because I'm becoming frustrated by it. I certainly still look forward to Wednesday as much as ever. I won't feel good about reading my back issues until I catch up with the currents. I noticed that shaxper mentioned that he reads full runs, and I've been moving that direction, too. It's not something I used to do. I could pick up a few issues from anywhere in a run and read them, but now I want the full story, and the further back I go just adds more things I also want to read. So far, the only comics I bought but didn't read were the first 10 issues of Plastic Man from a few years ago. I hated the first one and couldn't stand keeping them unread in my boxes, so I sold them quickly.
