After my disappointment with Square Enix Avengers game, I wasn't going to get their Guardians of the Galaxy, but posters at PA convinced me to get it and it's basically everything I wanted from the Avengers. It's heavily influenced by the movies, but not completely and filled with little nods and guest appearances by Marvel Characters. I'm still early in, but so far I've seen Peter Quill having a Dazzler poster in his cabin. It also allowed me to put Peter in his Annihilation: Conquest uniform right at the beginning. It's pure Single Player, no DLC or multiplayer add-on and it's most like Eidos Tomb Raider or Naughty Dog Uncharted. Well, you've got my attention.

It's pure Single Player, no DLC or multiplayer add-on and it's most like Eidos Tomb Raider or Naughty Dog Uncharted. Well, you've got my attention. Peter gets his name from a band, Star-Lord, and he is wearing that jacket when he's taking into space.
The soundtrack contains the following songs (can play them at any time on the ship): Zero to Hero – Star-Lord Space Riders with No Names – Star-Lord Everybody Wants To Rule The World – Tears For Fears Hangin’ Tough – New Kids On The Block Tainted Love – Soft Cell I Ran (So Far Away) – A Flock Of Seagulls Every 1’s a Winner – Hot Chocolate Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley Kickstart My Heart – Motley Crue Turn Me Loose – Loverboy Holding Out for a Hero – Bonnie Tyler Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go – Wham! (Don’t Fear) The Reaper – Blue Oyster Cult Turn up the Radio – Autograph Don’t Worry Be Happy – Bobby McFerrin White Wedding – Pt.1 – Billy Idol Hit Me With Your Best Shot – Pat Benatar Everybody Have Fun Tonight – Wang Chung The Warrior – Scandal, Patty Smyth We Built This City – Starship Rock Rock (Till You Drop) – Def Leppard I’ll Tumble 4 Ya – Culture Club We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister I love It Loud – KISS Take on Me – a-ha Love Song – Simple Minds Call Me – Blondie Since You Been Gone – Rainbow Relax – Frankie Goes To Hollywood The Final Countdown – Europe
So they have created a fictional band for the game and then turned it into a real band to let them make songs for the game.

The costume from Annihilation alone makes me think I need to play this. And I also because I really enjoyed the rebooted Tomb Raider trilogy, having not ever play TR before.

The costume from Annihilation alone makes me think I need to play this. And I also because I really enjoyed the rebooted Tomb Raider trilogy, having not ever play TR before. I've just finished the game (will go for New Game Plus as apparently I didn't meet some characters and creatures on this path and there were some Marvel characters appearing who I wouldn't expect to appear. Won't spoil them, far more fun to be surprised by their appearance.)
Costume-wise: I think this did a far better job than Avengers. Avengers had lots more costumes, but most of them were just recolours or new creations for that game that all were high-tech.
This one (just the Star-Lord costumes, he has the most (13). The others all have 7-8 costumes): - The Star-Lord costume based on 80s metal bands with the name on the back. Made for this game. - 3 other costumes made for this game
- Movie outfit - One outfit based on Nova Corps uniforms (I didn't like this much, as they made the Nova Corps costume too much space armour in the game) - One outfit based on an alternate reality version of the Guardians.
And the rest are all comics based: - His original blue/white outfit from the 70s
- His outfit from Annihilation Conquest - His outfit from 2008 Guardians. - His outfit from 2013 Guardians.
- His outfit from 2017's All-New Guardians - His outfit from 2020's Guardians.

Played Dot Hack Infection, Jet Moto 2, and GTA San Andreas
Both Dot Hack Infection and Jet Moto 2 showed up at work. Dot Hack is a series that I've always been curious about as it was something that was aware of as a teen when it came out, just never knew too much about. The game is fun with some interesting hooks to keep it fresh, especially as an MMO that you can play offline
Jet Moto is a series that I've wanted to play more of since I fiddled around with the demo for 3 in an issue of Playstation Underground. The tracks are incredibly varied and difficult when you feel you only understand a 3rd of the game's controls
Been watching playthroughs of GTA Definitive Collection and that's what's brought on a need to replay San Andreas. Never got into the series until I was older, but always remember playing San Andreas at both of my cousin's houses

I'd love a proper remaster and refresh, not the abomination that is the "definitive" edition. It was part GTA crime sandbox game/part adventure RPG. It was fun how you could customize your character's clothes and appearance through the gym, food and clothing store system, and the gang wars territorial battle was super cool. Other than the airplane missions which can rot, I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

Speaking of old games, I've thought highly of Medieval from the original Playstation ever since I got the demo in Playstation magazine some 20+ years ago. I never did get to the full game or its sequels, but I remembered it fondly. This past year I saw the PS4 remaster and was stoked to finally play through it, but man! I can't.
I don't know if the issue is something with the remaster or just how move-y the camera was on these old PS games, but I get wicked motion sickness playing this game, and I normally don't with games. I don't remember if the original was this way, or maybe it's today's bigger screens. Whatever it is, the game is absolutely unplayable for me which is a shame.

Speaking of older games, well it's really not an old game, it's a newer game but an old school Metroidvania game, I need to get back to playing Bloodstained. I got distracted with Warframe and kind of forgot about it.
But I think I am going to shelf Warframe for a bit. They added a new big update and to get the prerequisites to participate is more and more grinding. Which yeah whats the game is about but I dunno I think I'm just getting burnout. The content will always be there when I decide to go back to it.
I'm also doing another round of Breath of the Wild. Nice relaxing game to just chill to after a long day at work.
I've also encountered someone I knew some years back through my job that has that motion sickness issue, but in general with gaming. He used to be an avid gamer, especially the Halo series. But he said most all games he has tried in recent years do that to him to the point he can't enjoy gaming anymore. I've never had that issue myself or heard it said by anyone up until then.

That is a damn shame for your friend. I used to have some issues with that back in the day on early 3D shooters but it's basically been a non-issue for decades. I guess it's just something about that game.
You might like The Messenger. It's a modern homage to Ninja Gaiden/Metroidvania with a cool time travel mechanic. 2D platformer and it's funny.

Unfortunately prices for PS1 games are going up to what they originally retailed for, making it unfeasible
One that I'm glad that I did scoop up though was Bugs Bunny: Lost In Time. They had a cheat code in that issue to unlock all of the worlds, so I rented it from Blockbuster just to have a go at it. It's a tough as nails little platformer

Oh, I didn't realize that was free to play. Do they mostly sell cosmetics or do you have to pay to win?

Oh, I didn't realize that was free to play. Do they mostly sell cosmetics or do you have to pay to win? It depends on how much time you want to put into the game. Frames (armor basically so as to not spoil the game) are farmed mostly from bosses. It takes three parts to make a frame, and then each part takes different resources to craft. The blueprint for most of the early frames can be bought in the in game market for credits, which are dropped by all enemies. Earlier frames are still easy to farm yourself without spending actual cash to get. But later frames I have spent cash on as the farm for later frames has become more and more tedious. And for every day you log into play you get a "daily tribute" which gives any number of rewards including 25, 50 and 75% discounts. The latter being what I use to when I put actual cash money into the game. The game heavily leans towards encouraging online play. Where up to four players can team up to do missions and all loot earned therein that mission every player receives. And since all different types of enemies have different drop tables and RNG, one player might kill one enemy and get a rare drop and all four players get it. As oppose to playing solo (which I mostly do) and then of course the chances of rare drops, drop from four chances to one. There is also clans. These are multiple numbers of people that come together in an actual built dojo by the warlord of the clan, that people can do collective research and pool resources to make weapons, frames, tools, etc. And once someone has "researched" i.e. used all the resources needed to make the blueprint available, any one after that can buy the blueprint for credits and make it without putting the resources in it to make the blueprint itself. Like I said the game his heavily designed to encourage team effort. When I started there were 230 missions available on the star chart. Before I joined the clan I am in now, I did 215 missions solo. I built a dojo with all 6 labs that are available and probably did 60-70% of all the research available myself to make the stuff available I wanted. It is feasible to do it solo if that's how you choose to do it. It's not easy by any means. And since I joined the clan, I think about 3 years ago, I have gotten help. Though I still mostly play solo. Just joining a clan alone even if you still choose to play solo is an immersive resource that will make you game a whole lot easier. I've easily put $200-300 into this game over the years, with absolutely no regrets. But as I said that's because I play solo and am ok with spending cash to take the shortcuts I want to. But it is not necessary either. The game offers a lot of cosmetics in game that you don't have to spend platinum (the currency you buy with cash) on. Also farming things and then selling them is a big part of the game too. You can farm rare items and weapons/frame parts/companion parts and sell them in the in game trade chat and earn platinum that way too. So really if you want to do the work, farming, playing, earning and trading you shouldn't have to spend a dime on this game. It's literally all about how much time/work you want to put into the game as oppose to taking shortcuts and spending cash on the game. If you are a fan of fast paced third person grinding shooters, I couldn't recommend a better game. I've enjoyed it for all the years I have played it. I have taken several breaks over the years as the grind can burn you out sometimes. But I always come back to it.

Well, for the first time, I got in on the newest FromSoftware Soulseborne game on start day. I've been playing Elden Ring for a little over a week, and I am HOOKED. It is basically Skyrim/Breath of the Wild exploration with very polished Dark Souls style combat plus some modern quality of life enhancements.
I understand the hesitancy people have, as FromSoftware's reputation for being challenging is very well-earned, but they are hard but fair. It's not frenetic button-mashing or twitch-trigger response. It's more recognizing patterns and using the right tool at the right time. It also has some of, if not the, least annoying horseback game mechanics I've played.
I STRONGLY recommend. I haven't been this sucked into a video game in a while.

I'm looking forward to giving it a try once it's patched up some. Currently enjoying Ghost of Tsushima.
