I've really been enjoying my Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription which gets me access to, among other things, the steadily growing library of Nintendo 64 games they've been adding (still my favorite console of all time). Last Friday they dropped one of my all-time favorite games on that system, Wave Race 64, and it's like 1996 all over again, I can't stop playing it! The whole family's gotten into it as well, lots of fun playing each other. .

Bought Monster Boy & The Cursed Kingdom from GOG while it was on-sale. I remember playing Wonder Boy In Monster World for the first time a couple of years ago and I was immediately hooked on it's very casual action rpg style and Monster Boy definitely carries on it's legacy well

Bought Need For Speed Most Wanted for PS2 from work. Yeah, a couple of hours in and it's not hard to see why this game is so beloved. I had Underground 2 for my Gamecube years ago and loved it, this feels like a natural evolution. My only complaint is that you can't find other racers on the map and challenge them like you could in Underground 2

I don’t know anything about this game, but I like the ad:

Been on a bit of a Bomberman kick these past couple of days. I pop out my Pocket Go, flip on Bomberman Tournament for the GBA, and sink about 15 minutes worth into the battle mode
Grew up with Atomic Bomberman and Bomberman Party Edition, but I was never particularly good at them and I'm still not

Wave Race 64 was a lot of fun. I use to have soooo many N64 games as the console came out the year I graduated high school and I bought it day one because I still lived with my parents and had lots of disposable income. But at this point I couldn't tell you how many I still have or even if the console works. My boys when they were young learned gaming mostly on the N64 and GC, so both the consoles and the games have been through the wringer lol But yeah the N64 was some fun times.

I remember wanting an N64 for my birthday so me and my cousin Aaron could both have one (we both had a Gameboy and a Sega Genesis), but because my parents were incredibly thrifty, I got a PS1 instead. I honestly think I had a greater experience with the Playstation than I would have had with the N64 because of how cheap and plentiful the games were

I didn't get a PS1 till after I got married when I was 23. But I know exactly what you mean. I have a lot of PS1 games that I might ever would have because of the price point. Because at that time the PS2 might have even been out. Plus a lot of the popular games were the "greatest hits" and then they were $20 or cheaper. When I bought my PS1 I got Castlevania:SOTN, Alien Trilogy, FF7 and another RPG, maybe Legend of Drgooon. Don't remember for sure, but yeah I had a lot of good times with my PS1 too.

I got an N64 when I was probably in early high school or so? Not long after they came out. It was the first time I felt held back by the then extremely-limited number of games and Nintendo's squeaky-clean family image. The games I wanted were on PS1 which I played at my friend's house. I sold my N64 to a neighbor a year or two or so after and bought a PS1 with Resident Evil 2 instead, and I was very satisfied with the switch.
Not to say there weren't good games on N64 eventually or that they were all too juvenile, but the variety and quantity of good games on PS1 just blew Nintendo completely out of the water by then.

In fact, the N64 I currently have I think is the same one that I eventually bought back, ha.

I mostly played the N64 via emulation and the games that I got the most enjoyment out of were probably just Mario Kart, Kirby, and Smash (Conker's Bad Fur Day too, but mostly just enjoyed screwing around with Game Shark)
I had a ton of platformers on my PS1 and Crash Team Racing, so I really didn't want for much. Think my favorite was Muppet Monster Adventure, was really surprised to see it going for so much on Ebay

Saw this:
Wait, there was a Felix the Cat video game? As Shatner’s character said in Airplane II, why the hell aren’t I notified about these things?!

I think this crowd might appreciate this. I read this week I think that the entire Nintendo Power catalog has been added to Archive.org for your retro reading pleasure.

Wait, there was a Felix the Cat video game? As Shatner’s character said in Airplane II, why the hell aren’t I notified about these things?! It's a fun, albeit bizarre, little platformer I think this crowd might appreciate this. I read this week I think that the entire Nintendo Power catalog has been added to Archive.org for your retro reading pleasure. Oh, it's been there a while. Nintendo even tried to C&D it to hell and back. You know, god forbid they actually try and go after all the collections of roms and emulators on there and not some old magazine that isn't even in print anymore
