You know what? It's not a waste of time. Entertainment and relaxing and doing something for yourself is important. Self care is important. You deserve to have some enjoyment time on your own. We don't exist to work and sleep. I also sometimes pay for my game time out of sleep. It's untenable long term, and l agree that shouldn't be the norm, but every once in a while a game just sucks you in. Part of why I still haven't finished Dragon Age Origins in 2-3 years (I don't even remember) despite loving it and its story is it is just not good for my health lol. It's not something you can pick up for 30 minutes here and there, and I'm not in a life stage where I can afford looking at the clock on a work night and going "Shit, it's 3am." One day I will finish. So close...
Yeah I know. I was just getting way too nutty with the amount of time I was spending. I finished that game, and started Tomb Raider, which by this point is like 7 years old. I can't believe it. And I got the game maybe three years ago. The "definitive edition" on PS4. A little frustrating at first, but starting to feel more comfortable with it. Only sticking to about one hour of play time though, which is what I should have done with the Dragon Ball game.

New story trailer for Ghosts of Tsushima. This game looks insane.
This is shaping up to be a good spring/summer for PS4 fans.

Well, I am between games at the moment, and I am hoping to keep it that way for a while. It's nice not having something sucking up all my free evenings so I can get something else done. Just beat the main storyline in Dark Souls 3. I have the DLC, too, which is supposed to be both very good and VERY hard. After beating Bloodborne twice back to back and then Dark Souls 3, I think I've had my fill of insanely hard weird creepy action games. I liked them both a lot, especially Bloodborne, but I'm all set for a while. That said, has anyone been keeping up with the PS5 rumors? It is shaping up to be a really cool system. Priced to launch somewhere around $500 ish, backwards compatibility with at least PS4 day one, Ultra HD bluray included... I don't recall if I read this or am hoping, but if they also have backwards compatibility with PS1/2 discs I will buy one as soon as I possibly can. I have some old PS1 and 2 games I'd like to revisit, but I don't wanna deal with aging hardware, crappy analog cables looking shitty on HD TVs, troubleshooting emulators, etc. If I could just pop in my old PS1 RPG discs in the living room and fire up some nostalgia, man.. that is tempting. If the PS5 is backwards-compatible with PS1/2 games, they can have my money immediately. I replay Castlevania:SOTN every couple of years, but it looks like crap as you mention with the aging hardware and poor translation to HD TV. If it would look like it used to, along with a boatload of other games that I used to love, I might buy my first new system in a decade (last one was a Wii, for whole family usage).

Been playing Fallout New Vegas, it's been a fun experience. I've been wanting to play it for ages but I had a very shitty laptop from 2009 and just recently upgraded to my beautiful Acer Nitro 5 last year. No real favorite missions yet (only about ten or so hours in), but it's been fun just wandering around and collecting stuff

I had to stop playing a few games because I can't commit to 2-3 hours of uninterrupted leisure time right now. After my kids are a little older I will go back and finish Dragon Age Origins and Detroit Become Human. And Resident Evil 2 remake. If the PS5 is backwards-compatible with PS1/2 games, they can have my money immediately. I like to replay Legend of Legaia, but just don't want to deal with hardware. If it is native play day one I will buy one as soon as I can free up $500 for a fun purchase. Have you modded for stability?

And no, I haven't, should I? Well, if you aren't having issues, I suppose have at it, but that would be surprising. The game is notoriously buggy, and even with mods it would crash every hour or so. Save frequently! There are some great fan made patches to fix the bugs and performance, and just tons of content mods if you are into that. Modding the game and getting it to run is kind of a whole game in and of itself.

So far, I've had the game freeze on me twice and had a radscorpion clip through the desert, but other than that, it's been smooth sailing.
Also got back into playing the original Doom, it's been fun playing around with all the mods again (namely Reelism) and also Chex Quest. Was also hyped to see Memoirs Of Magic finally released and it's pretty damn glorious

Oh man, if you haven't, get the Brutal Doom mod and the metal music soundtrack mod for it for the original Doom. SO MUCH FUN.

Yes, I've played with it before, but it's not for me I like what Brutal Doom does in theory, but I'm kind of a purist when it comes to the original game. I also don't like the added voices/sound effects for the monsters/demons
I do however like and enjoy the Doom Metal Music Wad

New gameplay/story trailer for Trails of Mana. This drops April 24th. I had forgotten about this game when it was showcased last summer around the time of E3. I played the original Trails of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 3 on a SNES emulator a few years ago, but never finished it. This remake looks really cool, and not a half-assed job like the Legend of Mana remake that was trotted out a couple of years back. If this sells well, I wonder if Square is going to remake some more of their old classics. I'd love to see a new version of Chrono Trigger. Or Vagrant Story.

Been on a bit of Streets Of Rage 1 kick. Played the utter hell out of it back in the day with my cousin on Sega's 6-Pak wonder cart Played the sequels, don't really care for them all that much regardless of all the improvements. Maybe it's just nostalgia goggles, IDK
Also, the street thugs with the knives, f**k 'em!

Yup. No surprise there. Pretty much everything is cancelled until further notice.

Apparently it was already trending downhill the last few years. Doesn't seem like the spectacle it once was with other yearly events happening showcasing video games now.
