It has more to do with not being particularly interested in the types of games that they put out nowadays and not so much with being a tightwad, lol Ha, fair enough. If I may ask, what type of games do you enjoy?

If I may ask, what type of games do you enjoy? I tend to like arcade style games the most. I also like classic FPS games, racing games, and action rpgs
While I'm not particularly good at them, I do enjoy watching longplays of Point and Click adventure games. Dreamweb is my favorite

Ordered two games off of Amazon a few days ago and one of them, WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 07, got to my doorstep earlier than expected. Obviously like any other wrestling fan and PS2 owner, Here Comes The Pain! is the crown jewel of the system, but not feasible to my frugal butt at $50 and up
I felt like SvR 07 had a lot going for it, namely real human dialogue and not just endless text boxes. It also has GM mode, which is basically a wrestling simulator where you book matches. Played so much of Extreme Warfare in my 20's so I'll probably be hooked on GM mode for hours
The game also represents the true end of the Ruthless Aggression era, which was so important to me growing up. It's also the last game that Chris Benoit appeared in for sad, but obvious reasons

Second order from Amazon, Pinball Hall Of Fame: The Williams Collection, came in
Already sunk an hour into it and I love it. Tables include, Space Shuttle, Gorgar, Pinbot, Whirlwind, Funhouse, Firepower, Black Knight, and Taxi
Love Funhouse the most, played it constantly on Pinball Arcade
Am a bit miffed that they didn't include High Speed or High Speed II: The Getaway. But other than that, it's a fun collection
Also, some of the tables are free to play while others require in-game credits. You start off with 20 and gradually earn more as you complete table goals. You can also unlock the tables for 100 credits

I've got 95 tables total, from Williams, Gottlieb, Bally and Stern. However, most of the tables are no longer available as new purchase DLC's due to the software design company losing their license on everything except Stern tables. Luckily, I have a legacy DLC license as I purchased most of the table packs before the change.
Love both Funhouse and the original High Speed.

PS2, it's a collection from around 2007
When I did have Pinball Arcade, it was on my smartphone and it played better than you'd expect
Also love Spida1a's pinball retrospectives

I recently played through Firewatch. A mystery set in the forest in the 1980s with a unique art style. It's a short game with a very but sad story. Its worth six hours if you can find it on sale for $10 or less or so.

(Also stupid damn spiders. Why does it always have to be stupid damn spiders.)

Re-loaded and re-playing Rebel Galaxy for the first time in a few years. even though the outer-space physics of the game are over-simplified when compared to "Elite Dangerous", the game is still pretty fun. It reminds me of the old Starlancer and Freelancer games from back in the early 2000's.
It's got a great soundtrack too.

I am pretty far along in Sekiro, but taking a brief hiatus. I played through Firewatch as mentioned above, and I am also playing through Supraland. It's fun and imaginative and not punishingly, brutally difficult, so it's nice to relax. You are basically a miniature toy running around a playset built in the real real world. I like the concept. It reminds me of those old army man toy games that I was always intrigued with but never played.
Also, my gaming PC is officially old. I was troubleshooting some stuttery performance on this game, and I was looking up PC settings. My graphics card, which was an absolute beast in its day, is now officially below not only the suggested but the stated required settings. Ouch. I knew this day was coming, and it's not a huge deal since I play mostly on my PS4 now.
The game still runs adequately if I crank enough settings down, though, so that is good. I use resolution scaling so it renders at half of HD and upscales it. On a highly stylized game with such a non-realistic art style I hardly even notice.

So, on this my second day off of a weeklong R&R session, I was mulling over something to do having watched my fill of youtube, netflix, disney plus and the like. So I looked over at my stack of games and was having a hankering for a platformer, of which I have many for the PS1. But one in particular caught my eye; Ape Escape It's a game that I've loved just as long as I've had it. I remember renting from blockbuster back in the day thanks in part to my babysitter who furnished my playthrough with Taco Bell and Sonic The Hedgehog The Movie. As soon as I got done, I pleaded with my father on a long-distant phone call to send it to me in a care package and he did just that. I got pretty far in it over the years until my memory card bricked my ps1, almost to the last level I feel like the gimmick of gadgets and the full use of the dual shock are what set it a part the most and I'm kind of longing for a remaster treatment like Crash and Spyro got, but that probably won't happen
