All 4 FF actors look like they're exactly the same age.

There is nothing about this upcoming FF movie that has me interested in the least. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

I had purposefully avoided The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it's out on DVD and my nephew wanted to see it, so I said I'd watch it with him. So we watched the first three or fours last night and then we watched the last three or four this morning, and you've probably already guessed that I didn't like it much.
It's too long. And nothing interesting happens for hours at a time. Some of the action scenes aren't too bad.
But almost everybody is stupid. Peter Parker is very annoying and I guess the screenwriters think he's being clever. I don't understand Electro's motives at all. Harry Osborne's every action is idiotic.
Emma Stone stands out with some nice acting, but she is often undermined by some terrible writing and her fellow actors often seem to be completely defeated at making any sense out of the script they have been given. (Emma struggles with this a little bit as well. She does her best, god bless her.)
Worse than Man of Steel. By a lot. Man of Steel was dumb, but it was never boring. ASM2 unfortunately takes itself way too seriously, and it would need a much much better script to even begin to get away with that.

I saw Sin City: A Dame to Kill For this weekend. Definitely a guy's movie! They upped it up a few notches in the sex and violence department this time, which I didn't think was possible after watching the first film. This movie is crazy and so over the top. It's cheesy too, in that "so bad it's good" B-Movie way.
The film covers "A Dame to Kill For" and "Just Another Saturday Night" from Booze, Broads & Bullets, as well as two new plot lines, "The Long Bad Night" and "Nancy's Last Dance". There are a ton of hot women in this movie, but Eva Green steals the show as conniving housewife Ava Lord.
I expected better dialogue from the A-list cast, but it's Frank Miller's dialogue, which does not always transition well into cinematic form. And trust me, you will cringe at some of the dialogue. It gets bad.
I can see why the reviews are poor for this one, but you just have to treat it like a graphic novel that has come to life. And prepare to lose a dozen or so brain cells along the way.

Maybe it's because they already did the "graphic novel come to life" thing. This brings nothing new or different to the table.

I liked Sin City: A Dame to Kill For a lot. But I loved The Spirit. And the 1967 version of Casino Royale. So it seems I'm pre-disposed to like stuff like this and I can hardly recommend it to people I don't know. (I only know one other person who has seen it, and he liked it as much as I did. But then, he keeps trying to get me to watch Deuce Bigelow, and so far, I haven't gotten around to it.)
I laughed a lot in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. There were about twenty other people in the theater. (I saw the noon show on opening day.) I was the only one laughing.
(P.S. I loved Lady Gaga's cameo. She's great.)

The only thing I care to rent/buy this on DVD is for Marv's story. If it's as good as The Hard Goodbye, I'll buy it.

I also saw Sin City: A Dame to Kill For this weekend, and I have to agree with bronzeagebrian's verdict. Eva Green is awesome in every way, and easily the best thing in the movie. Mickey Rourke as Marv is also pretty fun. Overall the movie feels a lot like a retread of the original, but without the oomph the first had.
I felt the movie started to drag towards the end, and started wondering how much longer it would be. Then the movie does end quite suddenly, almost with a thud. I think everyone in the theater was thinking "Oh, was that the end?".
Certainly not the worst movie out there, but pretty mediocre in my opinion.

I recently saw Thor: The Dark World (2013) and This is The End (2013). I enjoyed both okay, I think I the latter moreso. Both were full-widescreen (2.4:1) DVD and both benefited for it, I think.

Saw Sin City 2 this weekend and loved it.
Over The Top is an understatement, but it was lots of fun.

Finally saw Winter Soldier. Really fun and I liked that Black Widow got some screen time (give me a Black Widow TV series). Bucky's metal arm looked super cheap in some shots on the bridge shootout. Like foil loosely wrapped around his arm cheap.

I just got the Winter Soldier DVD and watched for the 1st time since we saw it in the theater. I didn't have a problem with his metal arm, but I wasn't too focused on it. Black Widow was great in it, and the introduction of Falcon (and his performance) was extremely well done. I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't show up, flying high, in the 3rd Captain America movie.

My last two Netflix DVD rentals were a couple of 2014 superhero movies.
Amazing Spider-Man 2: Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were very good once again and I really enjoy the humor in the film too. However, once again, we have a superhero movie where focusing on one villain would have been the better choice.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: I could have used a little more Cap, but pretty much everything was on point from start to finish. Impressive story and cast performances makes this one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen.

Charles Dance looks creepy as hell in this and he's almost unrecognizable in the special effects makeup.
