Went to "A Most Wanted Man" last night, which I enjoyed a lot. It's Anton Corbijn so it's beautifully shot. It's Philip Seymour Hoffman, so it's beautifully acted.
Based on a John LeCarre novel, which I've never read. It's a slower movie, it's nice to see a movie set in Hamburg instead of the usual cities you see in movies.

I really want to see Fury. It sort of looks like a DC war story expanded into a feature film. (I suppose it's asking too much to expect the ghost of Jeb Stuart.)
(The IMDB threads are kinda hilarious. There's several threads about how this movie is stupid because World War II in Germany was almost over by late winter/early spring 1945. Because, you know, war isn't dangerous and you can't get killed at the end if your side is winning.)

You never hear about Hamburg unless you're reading about the earliest days of the Beatles. But it's HUGE!! Second biggest city in Germany and eighth biggest city in Europe. (And tenth largest port in the world!)
I'll probably see A Most Wanted Man eventually. I like movies set in European cities, and I really enjoy them when it's not the usual suspects, like London, Paris and Rome. I love movies set in Barcelona! And did anybody see "In Bruges" and not love it? Between "In Bruge" and "Seven Psychopaths," I'm really thinking that Perry Farrell is a much-underappreciated actor.

This looks like it could be good. I just that trailer today and I was trying to figure out which actor was playing Sgt. Fury and why I hadn't heard of it before.... but it turns out "Fury" is just a tank...

I'm actually looking forward to John Wick even though it's for some inexplicable reason arriving 6 months later over here than the rest of the world (and with over here I mean the Netherlands, not Europe.)

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Ben Affleck's "Gone Girl," and I have my interest piqued to see the Stephen Hawking biopic "Theory of Everything."

I don't think I've mentioned yet that I finally saw THE WOLVERINE film a few weeks ago. I thought it was pretty good. brought in a lot of elements of Claremont & Miller's stuff, and integrated it well into a coherent plot, with some nice visuals and a good action sequences. Thumbs up.

I bought The Wolverine the day it came out and still haven't watched it. Not sure why, as I really enjoy all the X-films.
