It's a 12-issue arc in the current Justice League series, which began in issue #40 and concludes in #50 which comes out May 25th. An epilogue issue follows in #51. There is also a Special issue and some one-shots for Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Shazam, Lex Luthor and Flash, which are all included in the recent Power of the Gods HC. Plus there was a preview in last years Free Comic Book Day book. So...yeah; this story's been going on for a year. Could be worse. I'm looking at you, Avengers. And I will generally agree that putting Luthor and Captain Cold in the JLA was dang near a stroke of genius.

Finally got caught up in preparation for May 25th.
I liked some of the one-shots more than others, but on the whole, loving the story. Can't wait for Wednesday now.

Loved it, that was a spectacular finish. It was interesting to see the Hal/ Bruce interaction return at the end. Oh Barda, I see the New52 managed to kill off one more relationship on its way out the door. He wouldn't rename that place Lexor would he? If there are three of him, are there three of someone else? That would explain how he's in 19 comics every month. Instead of Jason, they should have named him Simon. The moral of the story is, use the Mobius Chair to find out which horse is going to win the 5th at Santa Anita. Do not inquire into the secrets of the universe.

I checked out #50 in preparation for Rebirth, may have to re-assess my opinion of this story, at least check it out in TPB.
A satisfying conclusion I thought, terrific action, Fabok's art is still incredible. I like the twist with what happened to Power Ring and the surprise for Diana.
Overall though, across the board, when I think of grand superhero epic, Johns and Fabok hit all the right notes here.

It was a great finish.
I'll probably sit down and reread it again one of these days.

Despite a rough first arc, I would have to declare the New 52 Volume of Justice League as one of the best JLA eras ever.

It's not bad...I wouldn't say it's anywhere near Morisons JLA, or Waids or Kellys or the satellite era or JLI or JLU...

I don't think it would quite catch the top group where Morrison and Waid are, but I think it's ahead of the classic 60 issue JLI for me. Topping Joe Kelly's run isn't that high of a bar to clear.

It's not bad...I wouldn't say it's anywhere near Morisons JLA, or Waids or Kellys or the satellite era or JLI or JLU... Therein lies the rub. I've always been more of an Avengers fan so my JL reading experience is rather limited (aside from the cartoons that is). So is Morrison's run the high bar then? I've read very little of it past the first trade collection (New World Order I think it was). The last time I really paid attention to the League was the Bwhaa era (along with Justice League Europe). I've read some of Waid's JLA run, specifically the Tower of Babel story cause at that time, it was getting massive reviews. That being said, I've read most of Nu52 Justice League run and it's been far better than I first thought it would have been. Johns has a flair for the big epics and the quality of artists that he's had on his run have been superb. Hard to beat that kind of combination.

Any hints as to what might be happening to Orion or Barda or the other New Gods now that the Darkseid War event is over?

Morrison JLA's my high bar. Your mileage may vary. I really never liked that run. I considered it a retrograde step, going back to focusing on the "big" characters who I tend to find rather dull. Much preferred the character centric Giffen/DeMatteis run, or even JL Detroit.

Any hints as to what might be happening to Orion or Barda or the other New Gods now that the Darkseid War event is over? I don't think any New God has been mentioned in a Rebirth solicitation yet. Given Darkseid's current status and this two year linewide arc underway, the New Gods may not be around much (or at all) in the near future.
