It's may take me another 7-10 days to figure out what to do with the remaining 11 characters that I got left to do. I'm in an quandary of what to do next and please be patience with me. I had a horrible three days dealing with the Condo Association, two affected neighbors, and my own problems as well and getting assistance with my brother and getting a handyman to fix the hot water heater.

Cavern of Deadly Spheres Justice League of America #16This without a doubt was the most entertaining story in the early days of the Justice League of America that was wonderfully scripted and with a great deal of imagination that ran wild in this diabolical story that involved a villain with a scheme to destroy the Justice League of America. It's involved the Maestro whom has a villainy of using electronics and music to capture and elude the mighty JLA into a weird and spontaneous way of capturing all the members at once using deadly spheres that counteracts their mighty powers. It's has two part the imaginary part and the real part the real part has taken place in most humblest of all heroes - the Tiny Titan himself who did not hear the music but remembered that he was compelled by some unseen force enabling him to dance like the rest of his super-powered teammates except Batman and Green Arrow and yet they danced too. Anyway, it's all started when Wonder Woman and Green Arrow investigating a crime ... followed by Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Batman, then later on a team of Superman, Aquaman, and The Flash as well. But, lost in the shuffle was the Atom who was rather late because he was traveling to their Secret Sanctuary via telephone wires that he knows how to do. And, yet he did not do anything in this adventure ... Anyway, to speeds things up ... it was the brilliant Maestro that cooked up a scheme that he carefully map out a plan to destroy and engulf the JLA and trap them in a Cavern that offered no escape whatsoever. In the imaginary tale he did ... in a way that startled the reader until the Mighty Atom blurted out in rousing fashion! But, first the Maestro captured the JLA ... first he places Kryptonite in Superman's bubble, Yellow Gases in Green Lantern's bubble, and Aquaman's bubble prevented him to summons his friends from the sea ... The Atom, Batman, and Green Arrow all had similar fate as well preventing them to get their hands on their utility belt, arrows, and size-changing device that the Atom has on his uniform. You all know the rest ... Maestro has a secret weapon ... and the next panel explains everything about it. It's quite a mouthful of a device that he invented! When, the rest of the JLA figured out that the Atom couldn't possibly hear the music - they went to their biggest guns - Superman to save the day ... since Kryptonite can harm him ... only Magic can possibly affects him and nothing else. Having that knowledge in place with Atom's help in this case and he was the real hero because he allowed the Justice League to turn the tables and having said that ... Superman races to a nearby lead mine and coated his entire body with it and with Flash's help he uses paint to cover up the lead to fool the villain Maestro and save the day! When, the Maestro had thought that he captured the JLA and bury them in the cavern forever, Superman's broke his bubble and the rest was history! Until the Mighty Justice League of America ... broke out and this panel in it's glorious color sums up beautifully ... I just love this picture!

The Secret Sanctuary This is one of coolest picture of their headquarters in the early days of the Justice League. I remember this pic! I am a sucker for drawings of HQ's. If someone printed a book of the Batcave, Baxter Building, etc I would be the first in line to buy it.

Someone from the old CBR board started a blog of this sort of thing a few years ago. I think this is it: comiccartography.tumblr.com/There's also this, which has a lot of HQ diagrams: comicbookcartography.posthaven.com/

I'm moving onto Number 10 starting late Tuesday and it will be an introductory post of that character and I will be rethinking of the rest of the countdown and perhaps using pictures in the internet more than through my account at Imgur.

#10 Alan Scott Green LanternDC COMICS CHARACTERHe is one of my favorite GOLDEN AGE CHARACTER in DC COMICS History and one of the most colorful one indeed. I just dig his costume mightily and I consider it a grand costume design and still is. This is an introductory post and I'm giving you all a heads-up and more to come on Tuesday with more information regarding Alan Scott of whom I consider one of the greatest heroes in DC Comics during the Golden Age of Comics. To me, he is a heavyweight by design and having said that - he is one of the most powerful Justice Society Member outside of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Doctor Fate. He's got his start in ALL-AMERICAN COMICS #16 (pictured below) and what a glorious cover it is. One of my favorite covers in the early days of DC Comics! On top of that, he has one of coolest logos ever ... whoever created this logo is a genius and rightly so! His oath when he recharge his Power Ring ... “And I shall shed my light over dark evil, For the dark things cannot stand the light, THE LIGHT OF THE GREEN LANTERN !”My favorite Green Lantern Picture in Action! On Tuesday, I will share more information regarding Alan Scott as Green Lantern and I will try my best to cover everything that I know of him. So he's Number 10 in my countdown.

Alan Scott is great, and yet, outside of his All-Star adventures, his solo adventures were very blah, just like the crook he's zapping here.
Rare, if ever, he met supervillains in his solo run IIRC.
I've always liked that costume and logo too.

I've always liked that costume and logo too. I know exactly what you mean here and my complaint is this - that DC Comics never, ever gave him the right talent to make him work and knowing that I felt Alan Scott deserved more attention and better Super-Villains for him to compete to. That's why Hal Jordan had more clout than Alan Scott because Hal had a Rouge Gallery of which Alan did not had much and that's primary was DC Comics fault in the first place.

There were way less supervillains in the Golden Age and way more later.
Bank robbers and petty thieves hardly seem capable of superhero attention, and I don't want to plunk down my hard-earned shekels for Myron & Earl : jaywalkers of injustice.

I always liked Alan Scott Green Lantern (GA) > Hal Jordan Green Lantern (SA).
Same for Hawkman. Carter Hall (GA) > Katar Hol (SA).
Opposite for Flash & Atom. Barry Allen (SA) > Jay Garrick (GA). Ray Palmer (SA) > Al Pratt (GA).

New 52 Alan Scott - My ThoughtsOne of the many books that DC Comics put out during the New 52 Era of which I liked initially was Green Lantern Alan Scott of whom they made him gay of which I have no complaints of and it's was a stunning but yet somewhat shocking development of which I felt that DC Comics wanted to shake things up a little. After reading a few issues and I find the stories rather challenging to read and all that and I was buying them at my LCS when I can. What happen during the New 52 Era - I had a break of the issues and lost track of it because I got busy with other things and tried to get back to this book and they made some changes to the story line of which at the time I read it - I did not care for it and I just can't remember much about it and then I dropped the book altogether in favor of Earth 2 of which time after time this Green Lantern made an appearance of. Then, I became a fan of Earth 2 and then for a few issues (probably eight or nine issues) down the road - I've stopped reading New 52 and started my quest for Dynamite Comics instead because they had better stories and art that I like. The primary reason why I did not care for this Green Lantern is the artwork in general; I consider it an overkill of green and having said that - I stopped after a few issues and came back and tried my best to overcome it and failed. The stories are good but the art of Alan Scott's Green Lantern made me sad because of the lack of a true secondary color or two. That's why I like the original costume better than this junk instead. I consider Alan Scott costume a junk costume because of the lack of secondary colors or contrasting colors to make it unique and adds flair to it. Sorry Everyone, but this costume is not my cup of tea and that's one of many reasons that DC Comics New 52 was a total turnoff to me and that's when I shifted my attention from DC Comics to Dynamite Comics and that alone ended my 45 years relationship with DC Comics and the only books I get from DC Comics is Batman 66 and Wonder Woman 77 and that's it. Anyway, that's my own opinion on Alan Scott's Green Lantern that he was a part of Earth 2 during the New 52 Era of DC Comics.
