Current gossip is that actor Kris Marshall (perhaps best known as DCI Humphrey Goodman in Death in Paradise) is the front runner to become the next Doctor. So it's possible the next Doctor might very well be ginger. He did always want to be a ginger I really liked the second episode as well, man why couldn't they have episodes this good to start with? "Good" is subjective when it comes to TV drama, it's all down to personal taste. As a fan for over forty years, for me, the last series was probably the most consistently well written in years, one of the best since in the show's history.

Clara's demise was signposted fairly early on, when it became clear she was getting too confident, so there was a wonderful undercurrent of impending doom until it happened, and then, after the most amazingly well done lowest point for the Doctor in Heaven Sent, a surprising turn around in the finale which I actually found quite satisfying.

She was a great actress and the overall theme was great but it felt a little too stretched out at two seasons long and after already getting similar stories about companions with mysterious connections to the Doctor's fate in Rose and Amy it felt a little samey to me.

I think we could probably have done without all the Clara/Danny Pink stuff in series eight, to be honest.

This right here is the reason why the Doctor doesn't need to be cast as a woman. They have written so many strong female companions with nuWho that they nearly overshadow the Doctor himself.

I think we could probably have done without all the Clara/Danny Pink stuff in series eight, to be honest. Me too. Danny was, frankly, boring and there was way too much focus on their romance. I also disliked the "am I a good man?" them they kept harping on. However the episode where the Doctor goes into "deep cover" at a school was hilarious.

I think we could probably have done without all the Clara/Danny Pink stuff in series eight, to be honest. Definitely! I thought Danny Pink as a character was fairly dull, while Clara overstayed her welcome by a year. Bill is shaping up to be a fun companion though, I like what I have seen of her so far. Both episodes this season have been very enjoyable so I have no complaints...

I still think a woman Doctor would be fun.

So far I think "Empress of Mars" has been my favorite episode of the season. Maybe it's partly because the last episode with the Ice Warriors was kind of disappointing or maybe its just they look so damn cool in their armor. I enjoyed the new design of the Ice Queen and the actress's voice sounded familiar although I can't quite place where I've heard her before. I was surprised by the return of Alpha Centauri with the voice of the original actress. What a great nod to the classic Pertwee era.

i am soooo hungry for the collected season so i can binge of Capaldi's finale all in one weekend! Don't have any access to BBC so i have to wait for the DVD releases but i keep up with Who via internet sites the BBC Doctor Who and Whoviannet. From what i have read most of this season has been very good fun. Need my own blue box or can i sign on as a companion?

Did anyone else get a chance to watch The Power of the Daleks animation that came out recently. I felt the artwork was okay but that some of the movements were lacking. The story itself was interesting and I liked that a classic Patrick Troughton story was restored so new fans can enjoy especially one involving the Daleks and the Doctor regenerating.

Wow Episode 11 "World Enough and Time" maybe be my favorite episode of the season. I was not expecting that to happen to Bill but I love the inclusion of the the original Mondasian Cybermen. I think this may be the first episode the show has ever done with multiple incarnations of the Master. I'm really looking forward to seeing The Doctor regenerating although I am sad to see Peter Capaldi leave.

Wow Episode 11 "World Enough and Time" maybe be my favorite episode of the season. trying to agree while avoiding spoilers. the 'antagonists' involved have always been in my top three, from Hartnell to 'now'. i DESPISED the crappy retcon upon them making them human-based, vs their 'true origin', which destroyed the true horror of them. so i look forward to this episode.
